We’re due for a long Memphis drought here. They’re up 9 with 15:14 left. Alabama wins if it hits a near-average number of threes down the stretch.

Well Bama is 5/21 on threes, AND Memphis has hit 63% of its twos and grabbed almost half its misses. So it’s probably over.

Basketball is a funny game:

D2 Stanislaus St is 2-6 and coming off a 13 point loss to Humbolt St.

Saint Mary’s is 9-2, beat ND, hung with Wisky, and routinely gives Gonzaga trouble.

Stanislaus St is ahead by one in the second half.

Crazy thing is if they lose this game it won’t effect their NET ranking.  NET only takes in account D1 opponents. Unless that changed with the new changes for this year

Per CBS:

• It took Purdue 380 weeks in the AP poll to finally get to No. 1. Here are the five programs with the most poll appearances without getting to the top: Maryland (433), Utah (239), Minnesota (236), LSU (216), Vanderbilt (204). All have been No. 2.

Didn't realize that St. Thomas (Minnesota) is now a D1 basketball team.  Nickname:  the Tommies.

Sorry, but the St. Thomas Tommies sounds like a made up team.

I lived in Minnesota for a while. They also have the St. John's Jonnies and St. Olaf Oles.

Used to be a really good D-III conference across the board -- the MIAC (Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference). But apparently St. Thomas started getting a lot bigger than the other schools in terms of enrollment, started spending a ton of money on athletics (compared to the other schools) and were winning everything -- so they get kicked out of the league.

Looks like they're DI in basketball and maybe FCS in football now. I didn't realize all that happened.

Is Olaf the coach for St. Olaf? Anna the president of the school? (Hoping people with children understand)

My husband went to St. Olaf, and while I cannot vouch for the quality of the basketball program, they do have one of the all-time great college fight songs. "We're fast and we're furious; our team is injurious... Um ya ya ya!"

It's no "This Is Indiana," but pretty good for a MIAC school. https://youtu.be/zYsko2uqVew

Chattanooga/Belmont tipping off.  Really good mid major game.  De Sousa  from Kansas plays for Chattanooga.

Marshall is at Ohio tonight.   One of those games that will have an impact on IU’s SOS.   Ohio is 83 in the Net so if Marshall wins on the road they should move up in the NET.

Howard just subbed 5 new players into the game and they haven’t even made it to the under 16 timeout.  The game was tied at 7 with Georgetown at the time.  The unit was  playing good.  Georgetown scores the next 6 to go up 6.   Lol

Fake news.. I thought you meant Juan Howard so I went and look for the game. THEN I figured ESPN just used his name instead of Michigan as it didn't really matter..... Well crap, it's actually Howard.. Just like you said.  :(

This Ohio has been impressive every time I  have watched them.   They gave Kentucky a battle until Kentucky pulled away in the second half and they won at Belmont.

Ohio up 15 with 14 min to go.  I thought they would of taken a step back after Preston went pro but they haven’t
