Interesting factoid from the AP story about the Toiletmakers being No 1.  ... I would not have guessed that Maryland has never been No. 1. They went to the Final Four in 2001 and '02, winning it all in '02 (as we all sadly are aware of). I just assumed they were No. 1 at one point during one of those years.

Until this week, Purdue had the second-most appearances in the AP poll -- 379 weeks -- for a school that had never been ranked No. 1 (Maryland, 434 weeks).

Well Iowa is playing defense and Tony Perkins looks like a dude. They have a chance to be really good and are much more athletic on the wings then years past.

Losing luka and not playing bohannon at the point seems to be working so far on both ends of the floor.

Iowa gives up a 3 to Illinois to give Illinois a 39-36 lead with 6 seconds left. Everyone on Iowa then avoids the ball like its got cooties while the clock runs until Fran calls a TO with .5 left and just spends the time transforming into the Franimal.

I think it’s game over. All Tx So has to do is use some shot clock

Worst buy-in loss of the year so far?

Texas So is so hard to tell how good they are because they only play road games until conference play.   They just outplayed them and looked like the better team tonight.   Side note the SWAC started them out with 2 road games to start conference play lol

I always admired Coach Mike Davis's approach at Texas So, he knew his players would take lumps OOC so he would ensure they were taken care of on the road during the first two months or so of the season - nice hotels, good meals, etc.  Treated his team like pro's, I'm sure that is why they fought for him like hell during the conference slate.

I wanted Davis gone but I admire him for finding a place for himself in CBB.

He's taken the same approach at Detroit Mercy -- they start off with 9 straight road games this year.  He knows that he's never going to get an at large bid so he's willing to have his team play tough games until conference to get them ready.

It seems like his teams compete very well in their conference.  I don’t know how many times he has not finished in the top 4 in their conference but he seems to always have his team in the top 4

Honestly a little higher than I thought they would be given how Quad-centric net ratings tend to be.  I think that's a positive for Indiana given that they haven't had any Quad 1 opportunities at this point (although Syracuse should eventually be).
