Most of the practices are in Assembly Hall so the players use its locker rooms the most. It is a slap in the face to players and recruits for them to be housed in such a drab environment. I am glad this is being addressed. You look at what the competition has and we have been way behind.
We need LED digital displays above each locker. Look at what UK has.

F*** UK

We don’t “need” to do anything that Kentucky is doing. Glad locker rooms are being renovated, but Indiana can and will do it whichever damn way they please.

I wonder what Villanova’s locker rooms look like? I’d rather hope Indiana tries to be like them. More championships than cheating Cal.

Hate that I cared enough to go look it up. IMG_1522839792.743645.jpg

Looks nice and clean. I imagine ours end up looking more like this than Kentucky. End of the day, locker rooms aren’t the game changer for us, but it will be nice to have upgraded facilities.

To be fair people expect us to recruit better than Nova

Declaring for the draft is literally no cost to the player - only benefit. Honestly surprised if players don’t announce for the draft.

That's why I'm surprised Juwan wouldn't try and get some free feedback. I really wish they let those who go undrafted come back to college. I know that's tricky with the draft in late June but it is only fair to the players.

Absolutely agree. The B1G wasn't very good this season.

Next season? Like you said, a lot of important players leaving. MSU loses it's 2 best players and lots of experienced depth. Purdue- 4 Senior starters and possibly (hopefully) the fifth, Carsen Edwards too. Ohio State loses it's 2 best players (Bates-Diop & Tate) plus Williams and Dakich. Michigan made a nice tourney run....against weak teams. Not their fault, but lets not pretend they were really an elite team. Without Moritz they are very average. Long story short, most teams look to take a step back. I propose IU (with Romeo) swoop into the vacuum and save the day!

I hate recruiting rankings but if you look at the last few years the B1G has been ranked very low. The SEC is getting a lot of talent. If Indiana gets Romeo I think they will be the highest ranked B1G team as far as the 2018 class. Should be around #8-10. This reminds be of the 2003-2009 B1G. Michigan State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin dominated and nobody else really came close. I would love for Indiana to dominate the Big Ten but I would like some competition. The 2010-2014 Big Ten was very competitive.

Assembly Hall locker room to be renovated:
http://distribution.easternengineering.com/Job_Details/20170970 TOC.pdf
No renderings or anything, but confirms that it is being done. The Cook Hall locker room is already very nice, so this will only add to that. Glad it’s happening. The women have a nice locker room in Cook Hall as well, and although I can’t confirm it, recent pictures seem to indicate that they have started improving their locker room in Assembly Hall as well (just paint and minor touches...I have no idea if they’re going to overhaul it like the men’s).
On a related note, football is also getting a brand new/expanded locker room and players lounge.

Good to hear!

Someone on another board who has seen the renderings says it will be top of the line. It will look like what Kansas, Michigan State, and Kentucky have (our Cook Hall locker rooms already look like Duke’s). I know IU is really spending some money on football to make our new locker room/lounge look more like an NFL type layout (see below), so I imagine we’re putting some good money into the basketball revamp as well.

(I used to be able to find plans for these projects with more ease, but IU requires a password now for some of their plan room).

The horror.

It isn’t falling apart, but this has needed to be addressed for a while. If you’re going to compete at an elite level, act like it.

Also, a lot of it is going to be redoing the restroom/showers, and carpeting and the ceiling…it’s just old.
