IU vs MSU Post Game Thread

While I absolutely do wish we still had Tre Roberson on our team, there is a lot of selective memory being expressed by some people here. He did not consistently out-perform Nate last year. Tre did have his moments and hot streaks. But he never was all that consistent at any time during his IU career. He had some great moments and flashes of promise for sure. I feel the same way about Nate, he has his moments but the consistency is not there. All this "oh yeah we would have 4-5 wins with Tre"......please.

Its always easy to believe things would be different if we could change one little thing about the past. You might as well give up on the Tre thing, his choice to leave, and its done. Diamont is our guy now, and its a rough 5 games to go.

How many passes did he throw against navy? Not enough to dig us into a hole and it was two drives. Maybe one or two passes and one was a dropped screen pass. Minnesota was a bad game I'll give you that. Penn state was the only game where I said "wow sudfeld played really well". Missouri game sudfeld played poorly they put in tre in the 4th and he gets two TDs. Tre played better all year.

Wait, so Tre gets a pass on the Navy game because he sucked so bad and couldn't move the offense in the two drives he got so he had to get pulled? That makes sense........ I guess if you really like Tre. He dug a whole that the offense could never get out of. How did Tre outplay Sudfeld all year when for about 4 games the only reason he got in the game was to read the read option. That isn't entirely on him, but your logic doesn't make sense at all.

In similar news...Tre and the ISU Redbirds are at 6-0 for the first time since 1967. Happy that he found some success. He seems to be playing pretty well too.

He had 15 passing tds on around half of the attempts sudfeld had. 5 rushing tds which puts him at 20 tds with a less reps. Roberson had a very good season for the reps he was given. And while it's fun for us all to sit back and dream about having tre still, does anyone think that CKW is going to make a QB change after 11 yards of passing?

Give Zander a break guys!  He's a Freshman and that was his FIRST game.  Gezz you act like you want a Sr. QB out of him.....Think before you start bitching so much.

A true freshman starting his first game against a highly ranked team.  He was thrown to the wolves in a meat suit.

Plus our wide outs aren't really anything that special this year. Seriously, who on offense do people feel good about consistently other than TC

6 of those came against an atrocious Purdue team. 2 of those came against Indiana State. 8 of his touchdown passes came against the worse defenses we played last year. Just blankly stating his numbers like that ignores who they came against

I'm in the camp of people saying give Zander a break come on now it was his first game and we knew it wasn't going to be perfect and yes it was on national television but that is beside the point.

Zander had time in the pocket and guys open on out routes and he slung it out of bounds. I dont hold anything against the kid, none of this is his fault. Its not his fault that his Head Coach let this scenario happen. This is ALL on Wilson. And he should answer for it. IU football and IU basketball will stop being mediocre when we stop having such low expectations.

That is an odd game to post as an example.  Nate was 31-41 for 347 yards, 1 touchdown and 0 turnovers in that game.  The offense put up 42 points.  If Tevin Coleman doesn't fumble in the 4th quarter, honestly I believe we win that game as it stood.  So I don't see what difference Tre would have made unless he converted to defense and forced some turnovers.  ;)

Idk Shane Wynn has had a decent year and DeAngelo Roberts has had a bad year either

I keep hearing Coleman has no chance for the Heisman if only because he plays for IU.  No wonder IUFB recruiting is so difficult, year after year after year.

He simply was though. You can't judge a kid from two drives like the navy game. He wasn't given enough passing reps. But the ones he did except Minnesota he played very well. He simply out performed Sudfeld in most of the games. I'm not even blankly throwing out numbers. He played well got tds put up better stats even against teams that had decent defenses like Michigan and Missouri when they put in the 4th

Except he didn't, Sudfeld outplayed him against Navy, Minnesota, and the Ohio State game he threw the ball better. Also, against Bowling Green, Penn State, Illinois and Bowling Green, Sudfeld looked good in all four of those games. That is half the games where Nate got the majority of the snaps and looked good. Those are 7 games, I'll give you 6 since the Ohio State game is arguable they were equally mediocre in a blow out. How exactly did Tre outplay Nate most of the season again when 2 or 3 of the games I didn't list were blowouts.
