Class of '66 Old Fart Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Although the Mavs lost, Yogi had a very good shooting night. Troy got another start with the Rockets and just missed a double-double with 12 pts. and 9 reb. Vic with a woeful shooting night but the Thunder pulled out a W on a desperation heave by Westbrook at the buzzer. Westbrook also broke the single season triple-double record with his 42nd of the season with 50 pts., 16 reb. and 10 assists. 04.09.17 Season W/L W/L Min. Pts. Hovadipo Posted April 11, 2017 Author Posted April 11, 2017 I love Quinn, I think he's a lot better than most team announcers. I don't hear many other home announcers, so if he really is then I can't imagine listening to other broadcasts. What drives me crazy is something will happen, like when PG and Henderson got into it the first time tonight. He just starts yelling and reacting like a fan, then a minute later has to take everything back because it turns out PG nudged or kicked Henderson with his foot. Or he'll just yell "THAT'S A FOUL!" then realize after a replay that it wasn't and back track. It drives me nuts. He is good when he actually does the color commentary though. He obviously knows basketball. Quote

Talking to fans of other teams they like listening to the two, whereas their comments on other teams' commentators they can't stand. I don't really know personally, my experience is the Celtics guys, who are just horrendous and just fan boys. And Stacey King who is somehow worse than the Celtics announcers. I'm there with you on Quinn, but I mean I guess you have to expect some fan to come out from local announcers. Guess I;m glad other fans seem to like our guys. BtownBanner6 and Hovadipo 2 Quote

Even tonight he admitted that he hadn't seen the PG elbow on the way down and that both players should be given flagrants after the fact. Watching on tv there's a lot of things you can't see and I appreciate when Quinn points them out. He also does a fantastic job breaking down what's happening. IUfan_Charlie and Hovadipo 2 Quote
