Siakims isn't anywhere near worth a max. 15-20 maybe but he isn't that kind of guy. Giving him a max is saying he's equal to some of the absolute in the league, and he's not close to there.

He is getting the max though. I'm still working through how I feel about it, but I'm working under the assumption that if we trade 3 1sts and Buddy/Bruce for him, he'll be signing that 5/245 (or whatever it is) this summer and we go from there.

Signing him to a max would be an insanely stupid move. If there is a possibility of a sign and trade.. better move. Actually keeping him.. dumb.

15 mil will get you a bench player in the NBA, I think Buddy His makes around 20 mil a year. For ann all star like Siakim you will have to go a lot higher

Fairly deep dive into the Siakem deal and fit between a Raptors guy and the great Caitlin Cooper. Completely worth about 45 mins of your time.

This is a horribly out of touch take. 15-20 million is a joke for Siakim. Its so weird that you whine and complain about the NBA not liking skilled players. But you think Siakim should only get 15-20 million in the current league.

Buddy isn't worth his contract either sooo..

Just stating this is the market for players in the NBA and you figures aren't even close

Saw a stat tonight from the Lakers game that Lebron has played against 35% of players in the history of the NBA. I can’t even wrap my mind around that? Wtf?

That sounds impossible until you start doing the math and then it's not that nuts. Played 20 years. The League's only been around maybe 70 and for the 1st 20 or so there weren't that many teams. Wow

Siakam trade is great for the Pacers, and I don’t understand the complaints.  His fit is perfect… Pacers needed length, toughness, defense, and a secondary scorer.  He checks all those boxes.  If Pacers stand pat and wait for a better option, we will be waiting years and spoiling Halliburton’s prime.  This team is fun, but not currently a threat, so it’s time to cash in some of our trade chips.  Two of the traded first round picks are late 2024’s so their value was going to vanish in a couple months anyway, got to use them while you can.  Also talent attracts talent, and we just became a lot more attractive to other players.  We will see how it works, but on paper it’s a huge win for the team.

The really nuts part is Lebron's longevity. Nothing about that guy lasting this long at his consistent level makes sense. I can set aside my dislike for him and admire a guy being a top-10 player for the entirety of 20 years.

I can help make you understand.. it's called cheating lol. Everyone knows that man is juiced with everything you could think of. Plus he spends an insane amount of money to keep his body the way it is. But dude would have fit in well with the 90s MLB. He's "clean" because the NBA will turn a blind eye to him. LeBron could could shoot up some steroids on live TV in front of Adam Silver and go murder 10 fans in the stands and they'd create a trophy for him. ESPN would probably also give out some stat of "first player ever to shoot up steroid and kill 10+ fans in NBA history."

It’s insane. He’s 1of 1. I’ve been out of that world since ‘97 and I remember an old colleague telling me about him busting Lloyd Daniels at Dapper Dan and I’m pretty sure that was pre-9/11.
