A few of those could hold their own. Edey isn't a talent like Yao was obviously but at 7-4 300, he's just a massive that can move dudes. He'd have his way on the block with a guy like Bam though. Just like he did with TJD 1 on 1. Capela, Carter, Mobley, Allen are too small. Gobert and Towns are Charmin soft. Valanciunas could hold his own. I'm not sure if any NBA players could throw a proper post entry pass honestly. You're treating him line he's Tacko. Think more like a better Boban.

Are you seriously comparing TJD to Bam? Bam's skill level is way beyond TJD

This is the same stuff where you guys thought Luka Garza was gonna be anything in the NBA. These big slow, unathletic dudes aren't. Their flaws are way too big an issue

Garza and Edey are much different. And TJD and Bam are the same size. Bam would get dominated 1 on1 on the block by Edey. Just as he does any time he gets taken to the post with any good post playing center.

Is this a serious take? Do you really think "Same size, same result". Cause that sure is a take. Bam is a top 20-30 player in the game with his best asset being how good he is defensively. TJD plays 8 minutes a night for a team who doesn't have good bigs. The defensive talent level of bigs in the NBA is way beyond college players. Edey isn't just gonna go and bang on dudes in the block, their skill, length and athleticism are way beyond what he faces in college.

I know Garza and Edey are vastly different. My point is slow, unathletic players don't really work in the NBA, unless they are truly elite 3pt shooters or something, like Duncan Robinson. Edey looks slow compared to college players. He is gonna look like he is moving in quick sand in the NBA.

I mean Boban is usually my comp for Edey. So a back up big. Cool. Great. You don't waste a mid first round pick on that.

Bam is a good defender. But he still gets abused on the block against guys bigger than him. Top 20-30 player in the league? Oof... Probably not. Edey would definitely struggle defensively unless a coach got pretty creative. But there's no doubt he could do damage offensively with his size and soft touch. A few centers could their own like Embiid, Valanciunas, Nurkic, Lopez maybe a few others. But a guy like Bam, Capela or Claxton are too small to do anything 1 on 1. No different than college. Edey is Yao Lite. Worth a pick for sure. Probably not first rounder as NBA teams like wasting mid-late first rounders on guys that'll do nothing. But he's definitely worth a pick. Biggest problem for the NBA, the inability to just take guys that are good at basketball.

The talent of the league rn is arguably the best it’s ever been. But sure: the issue js the league has an issue taking good basketball players, lol.

I believe this was the point of the original post. The game has changed so much, that  guys like Kofi, Oscar, and Edey, are not even in the conversation. It wasn't that long ago, these guys would be considered lottery picks. Kofi is the one guy I scratch my head on. A decade ago(not literally)this guy would be around the top of the draft boards. Raw, but oozing with potential. In years past, Bam would not even be a  top 10 center in the league.

Tyrese is just incredible.

His ability to create while taking care of the ball is damn near singular. Even historically great PG’s aren’t 6 to 1 asst/to guys. There’s just no such thing.
