Forgot I got some other intel the other day. Bubbleknuts just reminded me of it. Was talking to some people on campus "in the know", and I brought up Stan's shot and how nice it looked. I got laughed at and informed that it might look ok, but he still can't hit a jumper consistently to save his life. That was their opinion obviously, but they work out together sometimes, so I trust what they're saying.

Good thing his biggest strength and most frequently used move is to run towards the rim and get most of his points in the paint.  Just from watching him last year, he has a serious knack for getting to the hoop, slicing and dicing his way through defenders for an easy lay-up.   Obviously, jump shots would be so nice for him to have, but we have plenty of shooters on the outside already and there will be some holes for stan and troy to run in the paint, as the defenders are going to be pretty spread out.  I think Stan is going to have an awesome year for scoring if he continues to get to the basket like he does... might be one of our most needed ways to score and keep the defense honest.

Teams like this have a great chance of waxing a zone defense. (Creating good spacing, playing quick and always keeping an eye out for back doors, taking good shots, ?having good mid range shooters in the post? Not sure about that last one.. Yet. However, I doubt we will face many Zone driven teams this season. And I'm talking teams who use it as their biggest weapon. Most top opponent/conference opponents we have, switch defensive sets or just play man to man, 3-2 trap, etc... But, god forbid, if we get 'Cuse in the tournament, we SHOULD be in good shape. Use their size against them if that makes any sense. Glad we ran some zone d last year. Now, it all comes down to: when to display it and what teams have a better chance at cracking it.

From ITH about Priller

“He’s got to get a little stronger, and he knows that,” Bacon said. “Like I told coach Crean, they’re going to appreciate more, and the fans of Indiana are going to appreciate him more and more the more they see the kid. The more they’re around him, the more they’ll say ‘Wow, I didn’t know he could make that shot,’ or ‘Wow, I didn’t know he could do this.’

Have to say the optimistic side of me loves this quote!! Still doubtful and unsure about athleticism but this is a great quote.

don't know..  could be something to it, but then again, might just be that the video producers just did what they thought looked good and have no intentions of targeting some players over others.   obviously yogi and james would get a feature, but that's cause they are stars of the program

Fran saying what we all know

@franfraschilla: Think Ferrell/Blackmon, Jr will be special. Troy Williams a key! RT @foomanchuu: @franfraschilla what about IU?

He also said he sees the Illini in the tournament for sure. I really can't imagine us having less success than them this year.

I'm surprised about Illinois, specially since they lost a starter to injury a few weeks back

As much as it sucks, I think Illinois will be pretty good this year. Didn't lose a whole lot, added some more transfers, and their young guys are a year older. Going to be a scary team, and you guys don't understand how much that hurts me to say.

They did lose their senior , starting point guard though, so someone will have to step it way up for them

I could be wrong, but I never really thought he played pg for them? Regardless, while he puts up numbers, he's one of the more inefficient scorers in the league.

They still have Rayvonte Rice, who played the point last year.
