Yogi and Stan Arrested....

Recommended Posts

Arrested Hwy1. Arrested. He was LYING. You're welcome. Thanks for the meaningless banter this morning

yep, you and Yogi are both liars. Thanks for the meaningless banter this morning. I now know two people not to take their word for anything.

I would seriously rather read about another ferry capsizing or another plane going missing instead of reading about two of our most talented players getting freaking arrested at the end of a brutal work week

Yogi is supposed to be the leader of this team. LOL we are absolutely doomed if he is to be relied upon as a leader. Hooray for another brutal season. Expecting anything else at this point is insane

Tom Crean
“We are aware of the two infractions with a couple of the guys on our team. One of our big problems on the court this year was solid decision making, which directly mirrors our lack of decision making off the court. We had too many players that had a maturity problem all year and that maturity has not grown yet to where it needs to be. This isn’t about a time of year or a special week on campus. This is about poor judgment, selfishness of actions, and disrespect for what this program stands for. We will continue as we have all year to push the responsibility of what it means to play in this basketball program and to represent yourself beyond reproach. We have been successful in doing that in the past and will continue to demand those same principles.”

Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell
“I apologize for letting down my family, coaches, teammates and fans and truly regret the mistake I made. This is something I have to learn from, use better judgement and I have a responsibility as a leader on this team to make sure nothing like this happens again.”

Stanford Robinson
“I’m very sorry for my actions. I know I have embarrassed my family and this program and have let a lot of people down. I have no excuses for the mistakes I made and I take full responsibility for them.”

Now, to all those guys complaining that CTC put the blame on the players and didn't take it for himself maybe this answers that question of why.

Really people died. This is just dumb ass kids doing what all dumb ass kids do.

people who don't have the ability to impact my life

how dumb do you have to be to try to use a fake ID during Little 500 week...as a basketball player?!?!? It just boggles the mind and leaves me without any hope that these kids will ever grow to "get it"

Yogi has been given the keys to a kingdom and he's proven unfit for the role which we need him to serve

Based on Creans handling of HMP's OWI I would think it is. Two game suspension for an OWI? That tells the rest of the team they can do as they wish without serious consequences!

There are a lot more consequences than missing 2 basketball games. Crean has been pretty open about Hanner's punishment being mostly behind-the-scenes. But let's not forget about the actual legal consequences. It's not like he drove drunk and got suspended for 2 games. Crean isn't the police. Hanner still got arrested and has plenty of other stuff to deal with.

Yogi and Stan now have the pleasure of being on Little 5 cleanup crew on Sunday, they have to go to court at 830a on Sunday of Little 5, plus the alcohol class and a nice little $400+ fine.

I bet the police in Bloomington are laughing their asses off over all of this...fake IDs used by the most recognizable citizens of the city, whilst their comrades are in the establishment drinking in honor of the fallen...seriously, you can't make this stuff up...way better than fiction.

Now, to all those guys complaining that CTC put the blame on the players and didn't take it for himself maybe this answers that question of why.

CTC recruited these players to represent Indiana University. He has to date obviously failed with some of these individuals what it means to represent Indiana University and how fortunate they are to have their tuition, board, and other expenses covered by Indiana University while other students struggle to even pay tuition much less have extra money to visit bars. It is a privilege to represent Indiana University, a privilege very few will be fortunate enough to experience.

Notice none of the three mention Indiana University, they just mentioned the program. CTC took this unfortunate situation to blame the less than desired season results on a lack of good decision and maturity. I hope CTC can turn it around but he should lead by example. Is it a demonstration of maturity and good decision making when he blows past opposing coaches after the game and refuses to shake hands, or chases a coach down on the court after a win to chastise him? He needs to gain control of these players.

For those asking the question of others about whether or not if they drank underage while in college, that question really isn't relevant since most of the people were not on full scholarship. Joe average student is risking his scholarship for offenses committed and doesn't have an athletic department backing him.
