I didn't know they were granted an extra year of eligibility. At least one of the upperclassmen you listed was allegedly inside the bar laughing at the 2 getting booked.

I didn't know that we already had graduation this year. Are all the freshman officially "upperclassmen" now?

So... sounds like that is EXACTLY the problem that I was noting. He should have talked to them, maybe during Yogi's Freshman season? Maybe this year? He had tons of opportunities. That's a total lack of leadership by the senior.

I never called a freshman an upperclassmen. As far as basketball goes, Hanner and Yogi are juniors.

And as far as college experience goes, they're finishing their sophomore years and still have three seniors around who should have been showing them the ropes for the last two years.

And you didn't call freshmen upperclassman, you said that the seniors no longer were, so I just figured everyone got to move up a year early.

Which is exactly what I just said. Yogi and Hanner are basketball juniors now and I stand by that comment. So I don't know what you're going for here...? Regardless, I'm not going to pollute a thread with a pointless argument like has been done so many times just this week.

My point is that Sheehey, Gordon, and Howard should have been taking care of the underclassmen and helped them avoid this. That's why I replied to a twitter conversation about how upperclassmen took care of freshmen during BK's time and noted that that should have occurred this year and clearly didn't. I'm sorry, I should have dropped names of players initially to avoid confusion, won't happen again.

In short. I blame Sheehey for failing to help freshman avoid this. Just like seniors, juniors, and sophomores helped me not get arrested when I was a freshman.

I wish that the upperclassmen, graduating guys, whatever we call them, would have helped out too. But I don't think that was realistic this year. Will lost all of his buddies and wasn't the leader many of us thought he would be as the season progressed. Evan was never considered a leader in my mind because he was basically a rent-a-guard in all honesty. I don't know how much pull Howard had in the locker room. Never knew much about him really.

All I was saying is that Yogi and Hanner are our upperclassmen now. (Or for the team next year. However you want to look at it.) But they have stumbled into their roles as "upperclassmen/team leaders". Pun intended.

How scary is that next years team leaders have both been arrested. I want to see troy step into a leadership role he is a huge X factor for next season.

I don't see a leader next year. I really don't. That is not a good problem to have.

Exactly and even if they are how can you take them seriously? You can't.

I'm glad we hashed that out because I agree. I'm concerned about next year, I'm disappointed that Sheehey didn't step up this year. He was never the leader we needed on or off the court. There were such great expectations.

I wish there were an easy solution for this. It's not like you can have a transfer leader and none of the upperclassmen next year will have any credibility. A young assistant coach that jives with the kids? That's all I got.

It's just a bump in the road. Don't let us get you down. I know what being in trouble with mom is like. I trust that an instance like this won't happen again.

Not a good way to start the summer.  It is a life lesson though.  I have been there.  There is a reason I said on whatever page it was I couldn't cast judgement.  Lol, I would like to think I turned out alright.  I was a kid too.  Kids do dumb things.  Fortunately, I wasn't in the public eye when I went through mine.  Hopefully since he is others will be able to learn from his mistake.

Yeah, I'm not going to judge him.  I drank underage, albeit not much, and I'm far from a saint.  My issue is less about drinking underage as it is trying to use a fake ID during Little 5, or at all really since everyone in Bloomington knows who they are and that they're not 21.  That's not even an indictment of Yogi's intelligence, I'm sure he's a bright guy I mean he got into IU after all, smart people can make dumb decisions and that's exactly what it was.

I just want Crean to hold them accountable, and have it consistent for all players regardless of who they are.
