(2016) C Thon Maker

Recommended Posts

With you on this Old Fart.  Maybe that says something about our age???

Now you're calling people Old Fart,  You've returned in grand fashion Reb.

Agree with most people, if it's for at least 1 1/2 years I'm all in.  I also like that Ed Smith says he would understand Thon would have to ease into playing time.

The other twist is, while I'd love a year and a half of Thon, when is he planning on committing? While we have a good team, we do have two open spots and could use some quality (key word) bench depth, both in the paint and at pg. I just don't see Crean going Thon or nothing on that scholarship. But, how long do we wait? Could he wait into the school year before he decides?

Good point.  I think we need to know something sooner rather than later.  If Bielfeldt says YES---then we have a little more depth  inside and can wait a little longer.  If he says NO then we may find ourselves scrambling again for a big.  I think everyone agrees---no more projects right now---we need impact depth. Otherwise we might as well scramble to develop Juwan and hold the scholly's for next year. I have to think Crean already knows how this is going to turn out or more names would be on our radar!

Chemistry shouldn't be that much of a problem.. It hardly ever looks like the boys have any chemistry out there on the floor. Last time i saw chemistry on the floor is when there was a point guard here by the name of Jordan Hulls.

Jordy was our PG? See and I thought we went straight from VJ3 to Yogi as our full time PG.

Jordy was a leader. Don't care what number he filled on the court. Leadership needs to step up this year and I'm confident Yogi will show excellent leadership as a Senior.

No doubt he was the man. I just remember being pissed a lot because Jordy wasn't handling the ball as much as he should have.

if you were to ask Jordy what his position was it was PG until his senior year where he played off the ball more. Yes, other people played a bit of point from time to time but Jordy was out PG.

Also, the whole leader talk is a little overemphasized. Meaning, that team with Jordy, had a LOT of high character kids. Easy to lead those that want to be lead. Yogi has made some mistakes, no doubt, but he had teams chock full with delinquents. Not a fair comparison at all.
