He plans to visit IU and Xavier in the next few weeks.

‏@Indyhoosiersbba: '17 6'3 PG Paul Scruggs will visit Indiana Univ and Xavier in next 2 weeks. Indy Hoosiers are in action this weekend in Fishers. UA

I think Crean needs to go all out on Scruggs. Seems like the most likely get out of the in-state superstars.

I'm sick of in state kids hoping for what they think is a better offer. Would love to get back to the place when kids hope for and jump on an IU offer.

You would think a kid like Scruggs sees the hero's send-off Yogi just got as a kid who took pride in his state and would want to follow that. But...he may not. Which is fine. But it goes to show, partially, why Yogi was such a special one. Agree with this, though. As Dakich has said before, IU is a really attractive place to play right now.

Man, sure hope Wilkes and Scruggs do end up deciding to go to IU.. Regardless of who offers. Wilkes is a Zeller like kid. Face of your program. Scruggs has potential to be a pro, seemingly. Durham seems similar, though..?

Nice read at:  http://scoop.hoosiershq.com/2016/04/scruggs-keeping-eye-on-iu-iubb/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Last paragraph is a quote from his high school coach:  “Being 45 minutes to the south would be great,” Simpson said. “Like I told him, if you’re an Indiana Hoosier, when you die, that’s in your obituary — former player, former Hoosier. That’s what they talk about.”

Never considered that thought as a recruiting tool.    Emoji

I'm under the assumption Scruggs is ours to lose. I love his game and he's my top priority if I'm the coaching staff, because of his talent and the fact that he obviously likes us a lot. We can't lose this kid gambling for others we have a slight chance with(Diallo & Bombs). Once we get Scruggs I think it brings more players along too. Let's get this wrapped up hopefully by fall.

I would be extremely happy to land Scruggs as our second 2017 recruit. E really need to add some wings and bigs though.

Were the only team that has gotten any crystal ball predictions for him and everything I've seen on twitter indicates a lot of positives for us. Nothing that a spring/summer can't change though. That's why I said make him our top priority, so it doesn't drag on and let others get a chance to gain ground like Izzo and Mack seem to be trying to do. Porter saying he is 80-85% sure him and young will attend the same school makes me think its Duke or UK for them which if its UK that takes away our biggest potential threat for Scruggs besides Izzo and MSU.
