I don't feel like I've seen enough to say his brand of basketball isn't great. There are things I like and things I don't love so much.

Yup. Of course HC is responsible for roster construction so he's ultimately accountable for that. But it's a year 1 roster so I've set those expectations for myself. Needs to improve in year 2.

I also think DDV is young and early enough as a HC to continue evolving his style, so I want to see two full seasons before I feel like there's a large enough sample size for me to have a very strong opinion on most things. I give every coach the benefit of the doubt for the first two years and feel like season 3 is the "show me" year if I haven't already bought in by then.

I disagree with the HC being responsible for the roster. That’s old school mentality. Modern basketball the available NIL is a huge hindrance.
