Hey everyone,

My wife and I are going to the IU-Purdue game on Black Friday. It's been a long time since I've been at Purdue. I had a few questions for those who may know:

1) Best place to park? I see there are lots of options (or at least it seems that way) around Ross-Ade.

2) How early do you recommend getting there? We usually get to Bloomington 3.5-4 hours before kickoff and have no issues. Just not sure what to expect up there.

3) I am sure there are, but are there any big IU tailgate/meet-ups?

Unfortunately with our schedule this year I wasn't able to make it to Memorial Stadium. However, I have to see this team play.

  • Spend as little time in West Lafayette as possible.
  • Disinfect and defumigate all clothing immediately upon leaving.
  • During the game? Alternate between cheering heartily and laughing loudly.
  • Do not look at Purdue players - they have a pertrifying Medusa-style effect that can turn onlookers to stone.

Only one minor tweak to your list - BURN all clothing upon leaving as no amount of disinfecting/fumigating will remove the stench!

It is funny that northernmost highway exit to West Lafayette absolutely smells every time.  There is a factory there or something.

Tickets to this game are pretty pricey.  While some of that is PU fans, I think most of it is IU fans.  :-)

Still a TON available through PU directly, starting at I think $45.

Oh nice I was just looking on SeatGeek and assumed it sold out.

I’m optimistic a lot of red is gonna be there.

I have been to the bucket game once at Purdue and got lucky and were able to park right next to the stadium. One of the parking lot attendants allowed me to park in a private lot even though I didn't have sticker for that lot. He saw I had IU stuff on and he was a fan of IU.

The game went to double overtime and we won it so it was a good day despite the cold rain

I know a couple Purdue fans making money selling them to IU fans. Pretty sure it might be an extra home game

Love the responses! I expect a lot of red and for it to get ugly fast. Probably going to get there around 4:00 and just prepay for a lot near Ross-Ade. Again, only been there once but it seems like a dump. Mackey Arena is kind of cool. I think it's incredibly random it's the NBC primetime game on Black Friday, especially since this decision was made in the offseason. Kind of nice the Bucket game hasn't been the noon BTN game for a few years.

OT: Don't forget their coach was running his mouth about Cig this off-season. I hope it's worse than 66-0.
