(2026) ATH/WR Walker Bryson - DECOMMIT

Recommended Posts

Nice pick-up, Bryson marks the third commit from Georgia for the class (a priority area for CCC and Crew) with a solid mix of Power 4 offers.

This puts the class at 21 commits at July 4th (HUGE shift from the days of CTA & CKW!) - I would expect the staff to wrap-up the last 3-5 scholarships on another WR, OT, DL/Edge, and DB.  The real focus for the staff this Fall will be (1) maintaining the '26 commitments and (2) building relationships with the '27 class.

Looks like he's going to play slot?

Ah, sorry I missed your original thread on this guy.

Articles keeping mentioning wide out.  Though I don’t see any reason he wouldn’t work in the slot.

Decommitted.  Just happened so no word yet on why.

Update: Sounds like both sides saw this as the best course of action.  Not sure what changed since he committed.  Maybe position (he’s an ATH) or projected PT… tbd.

This one to me was a head scratcher. If it was the staff related, makes me wonder if he regressed this year. It also might have been he got a better NIL offer and IUFB wasn't going to match.

Did he have a UGA offer previously, and does he have one now?

As far as I can tell, never had one and maybe that shows it was staff initiated. He did have other big offers such as Miami and Tennessee. This is the 1 decommit I was bummed about, but as always trust the staff 100%.
