He's planning on visiting IU soon, probably some time this month.

Rabby's description of his play: "Long and bouncy, Hill already has the ability to block and alter shots on the defensive end. He's an outstanding lob finisher, can play well above the rim and runs the floor well."

Trevor Andershock thinks he's the best shot blocker his class. Says he's quick off his feet and is a pretty good judge of when shots to go after.

He says that in one of the AAU games today, the official stats gave him 7 blocks, but Andershock, college coaches, and the Indy Heat stat keepers gave him 10 or more and likely 12+.

We've been in direct contact with Hill.

Doesn't seem like Hill felt there was much direct contact: https://x.com/JamieShaw5/status/1981094572886560962

"I haven't been on a visit yet, so I ain't really get to talk with their staff a lot. My communication with them is a little iffy. I don't really talk with them that much."

Really wonder what happened - is this a misstep by the staff on a top local recruit or they saw something they really did not like and backed off completely.

No opinion on the kid at all, haven’t watched a second of him, but if they’re not hard on a 6’11” athlete from Marion County would think it’s way more likely to be the latter than the former.

Yeah, and I think it's possible IU was too far behind to make up. I think the previous staff didn't really pay attention to him and Purdue has been in on him for quite some time.

Seeing how they've gone about recruiting so far, I have a hard time believing that they thought they were too far behind on a 2027 recruit to catch up. More likely they saw something that made them think he wouldn't be a great fit for the program they're building.

Per Raby, our staff has really ramped up contact with Hill.  Hill reportedly will be at the IU-Louisville in Indy and was quoted as saying he's hearing from multiple IU coaches.  Have to think the comment he reportedly made in early summer about lack of IU contact had more to do with the new staff's #1 priority of building a roster for this season than evidencing any lack of interest on our part.

At the Kevin Brown Memorial in Illinois, Pike beaten in OT 68-65 by Wisconsin Lutheran which features another member of the Knueppel family.  Hill 4p, 6r, 1s, fb, 2t.  Wasn't a particularly impressive 2 games for Hill looking strictly at the box score.  No idea if he was plagued by foul trouble or perhaps battling an injury.  Teammates Jahari Miller 21p, 6r, 4s and Landon Lampley 21p, 6r, 3a; 1s, 2b, 1t.
