Smythe becomes the second in-state commitment, and seventh for the class.

"IU football has added to their 2026 recruiting class today with the announcement from Blake Smythe that he has committed to the Hoosiers. The 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive tackle from Franklin (IN) Franklin Community H.S. is the second in-state prospect to pledge to the Hoosiers for 2026.

Smythe committed to Indiana over offers from Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Kansas, Louisville, Ball State, Memphis, Miami (OH), and Toledo."

Kid has deep roots in Bloomington. I went to school with his family. Unionville kids. Grandfather played for Corso.

True freshman Blake Smythe got name checked by Tyrique Tucker as the first young lineman he could think of that has made an impression on him.

Indy kid and a legacy Hoosier. Good size and 3* high schooler with multiple P4 offers. Apparently a player to keep an eye on.
