Demo Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 6’7” lefty wing from Chicago who attends Bosco Academy in Hammond, IN. Visited a couple of games ago. Super under the radar at this point. A few mentions here and there but nothing in depth. Quote

Watched a couple of his junior year games on YouTube. The natural reaction is looking at this as sort of a Grant Gelon situation. Don’t think that’s quite fair. He’s clearly a high major athlete and if you believe in the kid then it’s worth exploring. And, man, does he have a pretty stroke. Redcamaro and Napleshoosier 2 Quote
Stuhoo Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 So… lottery ticket roster filler. May turn out wonderfully, but it’s not a great idea to fill the roster this way. Quote

Churn them and when 1 hits you stole a kid. But in this era it’s always gonna be tough to get the ROI. Stuhoo 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Odd. Can’t even opine. This staff is pretty much an embarrassment. Doesn’t really matter WHO they get, product remains the same. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners 94Bulldog and Napleshoosier 2 Quote

BA47591 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 It's going to be a long year. Woody knows he's done. A person could have a little bit of sympathy for him if he wasn't such an arrogant prick about everything. Someone digging a 6'7" under the radar lefty out of nowhere and tagging Cheaney's name next to it is pathetic. J34 1 Quote

Actually, and we’ll see how recruiting addicted some are around here, the name that came to mind for me here was David Williams. He was an unknown 6’7” lefty from Florida who CTC offered way back in the day and then we never heard of him again. I don’t even know where he went to school. Quote

Jacksonville high player in 2009 that was given an offer by an IU assistant without talking to Crean. Williams accepted......the assistant who made the offer was fired and IU backed off. I believe Roshown McLeod was the assistant. Actually played 3 seasons for UNC Greensboro https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/david-williams-1.html RaceToTheTop, WayneFleekHoosier and Demo 2 1 Quote

Couldn't shoot, take care of the ball, defend without fouling, pass, or rebound, yet started 78 out of 93 college games, only to disappear before his senior year. I shudder to think where David Williams might be today. Demo, J34, Home Jersey and 1 other 3 1 Quote

What I do remember is that after he was offered the only thing I could find was 1 video of an individual workout in an empty gym. Hell, by comparison Harper’s positively over-exposed. Quote

I shudder to think where David Williams might be today. I saw him play on tv (can’t remember against who). Good athlete and defender but that was as far as it goes. If I remember correctly the offer came from McLeod on a visit — Crean didn’t know about it until Williams posted it and accepted. There was no official ‘IU pulls the scholarship’ but it quietly went away as did McLeod at the end of the season. Demo 1 Quote
