Story is behind the paywall. “Indiana coach Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers are hosting Naperville (Ind.) North QB Jacob Bell for an official visit this weekend. As a senior Bell completed over 63 percent of his passes for 3,082 yards and 38 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. He added four more rushing scores.” I heard some smoke that IU mighthire Ball State’s QB coach. Trying to nab Ball State’s QB commit would make perfect sense. https://x.com/swiltfong_/status/1869354117346349342?s=46 Edited December 18, 2024 by FootballSchool ebridges24, MemphisHoosier and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 1 Quote
go iu bb Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 TDH has on the portal tracker page that Beau Pribula, backup QB from Penn State is visiting. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-football-transfer-portal-tracker-following-the-2024-regular-season/ FootballSchool and BtownStrength 2 Quote
FootballSchool Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 (edited) Also: “Penn State quarterback Beau Pribula has visits scheduled to Iowa, UCF and Indiana, a source tells @On3sports. @mzenitz first. Indiana visit is lined up for this weekend.” https://x.com/petenakos_/status/1869428562203488442?s=46 Wonder if this means Mendoza is a UGA guy? Also doesn’t fit “production over potential,” to bring in a highly recruited backup quarterback. But, it is Interesting Iowa is on his visit list; they got their QB for next year: (hank brown). So, looks to be he’s okay sitting or competing for a job! We shall see, I trust CCC! Edited December 18, 2024 by FootballSchool WayneFleekHoosier and MemphisHoosier 2 Quote
Hurryin' Hoosiers Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Would Mendoza start at UGA? Hopefully not losing out on him. I think a Pribula vs Jackson competition might be pretty close. Neither really has a leg up on experience...Although Jackson would have an advantage of being in the system longer. Going after Bell is curious given CCC had recently commented that we don't need another young QB given that he took 2 in last class. Hopefully doesn't mean a transfer leaving. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

He’s not an ordinary backup QB as he’s appeared in every game the last two years as PSU has put a couple of packages in for him. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote
Hoosierfanyuh Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Im a little confused with the plan for QB is, does this all still continue to happen if Mendoza commits next week? I’m also curious the staffs plan for Cherry long term. Quote

Cherry has 4 years of eligibility remaining and another 1-2 seasons to develop before turning him loose. Quote

FootballSchool Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I heard some people say Cherry is last on the official depth chart. Quote
Hovadipo Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Pribula could mean that Mendoza is out, but it could just be due diligence too. This thing moves so fast that if you miss on your main guy in a big position of need, you're sitting there on Dec. 28th with your thing in your hand. CSP and FootballSchool 2 Quote
