Down 1 at the half against eastern Illinois. This is what I’ve been waiting for all off season. Doesn’t matter what players we missed out on or who is on this roster, if we can’t run a team like this in the ground then I don’t know what to look forward to here.

Hope not, but this certainly looks as if things are headed toward the worst case scenario many hoped to avoid by parting ways this past offseason... Looking this bad this early, is a sure recipe for stuff to go from bad to worse.

Their coach apparently started his playing career at IU (hard to believe looking at him now).

I think he transferred after 2 seasons. He probably hates IU and has his team fired up.

We're unprepared, didn't take them seriously, emotionally flat, lacking gameplan/identity/standards.

Story of the era.

Yeah. He transferred to Evansville.

Coached there for several years as well.

He was part of Alford's recruiting class. In "Season on the Brink" -- Knight went ballistic when he came into fall practice something like 25 pounds overweight (this was long before the days of summer practice, etc.).

So at a practice soon after, he made everybody on the team wear a rope with a 25-pound weight tied to it -- so they could see what a burden it was to carry that extra weight. I think that's how it went -- but don't recall exactly. It's been years since I read the book.

Sounds more like a broken record! Same old crap, different day!  I think MW is the definition of insanity

I'm changing my prediction.

I'm going to the Jazz Concert.  Hate to miss this game...  /s

Defense would be nice.

EI's defense is better.

Like Gallo's floater.

Why is the offense just standing around?  Miles dribbles into trouble again and again.

Sad/

Came to IU along with his high school coach Ron Felling who years later sued RMK/IU if I remember correctly.

Ya. I’m not usually too down quickly like some are, but I just can’t get over how deep we are this year and our talent level as a whole. We also have 2 veteran guys on this squad. This is worrisome for sure

This team is not playing like a team and no where close to how they played the second half of the Tennessee game. They are not playing team defense, no communication, Rice needs a chill, please run at least 1 non-post play every couple minutes,... we are not as deep as we thought, unless some make a HUGE jump in the next couple weeks.
