Ouch!

Matt Hayes = Paul Finebaum's illegitimate son?

or maybe Lane Kiffin's long-lost cousin?

I hate these people so much. Why did they all decide to make IU the target of their angst? Our schedule had the two teams that played in the national championship game last year on it. It’s not our fault they both dropped off.

“We’re not really doing this, are we? We're not really rewarding a team for simply winning games against overmatched competition” ok, but why should we reward SEC teams for losing games against overmatched competition? Alabama lost to two 6-6 teams. Ole Miss lost to a 7-5 team and an 8-4 team. Ole Miss beat its 2-10 rival by 12 points last weekend. We beat our 1-11 rival by 66 points last weekend. We have more wins by 14+ points than Ole Miss or Alabama have total.

The SEC slobberers are embarrassing themselves.

They think all the at large bids should go to SEC teams. All the other conferences, including the B1G, aren't good in their opinion.

Borrowing some Logic from moneyball. These guys are trying to rage against Indiana because we represent a change to the status quo that they have built their livelihood around. Al their connections are for the traditional powers.

before you couldn’t just get into the game of paying players. Had to know the people and had to finesse it. Not everybody could or would do that in the shadows.  NIL now makes it to where any school that wants to compete can make a decent shot at it.

That scares these guys who supposedly were experts at the sport but only really knew Jack about 12 teams.  Their lack of actual knowledge is getting exposed and they fear new players who are competent will start to get all the clicks.

Ranking transfers is such a daunting task that it probably isn't worth doing. But this one was not that hard lol.

Ponds and Fisher were a joke, too.

But, daunting task or not.... it's 247s job, and they choose to put rankings out there. They don't technically have to do that. Ultimately, I mostly just think recruiting analysts are poor at their jobs. This is pretty hefty evidence.

You forgot these beauties of analysis: looks as though we picked up:

  • The 61st best transfer TE, Zach Horton,
  • The 68th and 91st best transfer RBs, Justice Ellison and Ty Son Lawton, and
  • The 92nd and 114th best transfer WRs; Myles Price and Keshawn Williams.

Lol

Ellison in 1 season has become probably an all-time top 10 IUFB player for me. Love that kid.

He's gonna play on Sunday. He may fill in the last spot on my future fantasy football teams as a sentimental choice.

Today's signees from The Daily Hoosier:  https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-football-announces-21-class-of-2025-signees/

Tweets I saw earlier today from Coach Cig's signing day press conference -

Cignetti asked if he has an idea of how big this portal class can be when all is said and done. Smiles. "Yea, I do."

Curt Cignetti says Indiana will definitely pursue a QB in the portal this offseason.  Cignetti asks about QB. Says IU likes Tyler Cherry and Alberto Mendoza, didn't feel a need for a freshman QB. Will "definitely sign a quarterback out of the portal."

Fourteen (14) of Indiana's 21 signees today will enroll early and be here next month. Seven more will arrive in the summer.

I'm trying not to read too much into the QB comment, but I am surprised Jackson wasn't mentioned...

I wouldn't too much into it. I didn't. I think he was asked why they didn't pursue a QB for this year's signees? I could be wrong.
