Deserthoozier Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 Circumstances change…just like Cig was re-upped based on performance, it’s time for Dolson to get on the horn and look to immediately renegotiate our weak deal w/triple stripe. We’ve always been treated like the red headed step child in basketball. IU football has been an afterthought for them. Penn State and Tennessee both get over 3x our annual funding. Kansas, Louisville, Nebraska, Miami, Arizona State all have better deals, worth $M’s more per year. We’re hot - use the leverage…or look elsewhere for the future. Pagoda and MemphisHoosier 2 Quote

A new deal could help both sides. Things have changed at IU and a whole new setup and contract with our apparel partner is very much needed. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote
Pagoda Posted Wednesday at 03:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:06 PM I’m gonna blow of a fuse — where is our new deal???!!! We are getting like $6M/yr. Quote
Brass Cannon Posted Wednesday at 03:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:08 PM For real. We need to point blank tell them. We want a new deal. Or we will be leaving when this deal expires. He’ll maybe we did tell them that Quote

Correlation does not equal causation. In the realm of sport, where NKE has a connection with athletes and consumers, football and basketball are all showing growth and NKE is one of the leading products and innovators in the industry. And I don't see them going away anytime soon. NKE wants their logo on the jersey during the College Football National Championship, not their competitors. They will choose wisely. Last week, they just made a $200M+ deal with one of the jersey's in last year's CFP Championship game. Which is my point. Sidenote: I could care less what deal IU has with who and how much so on and so forth. I do know capitalism tends to work itself out when it comes to these kind of deals. Quote
Demo Posted Friday at 12:08 PM Posted Friday at 12:08 PM Uh huh. Have no idea how this sort of thing works, but it certainly seems like a deal that needs to be…..revisited. Quote

Are you trying to ruin my day Demo? vbg Hey Adidas: I know Scott is aware of this and surely working on it. We signed a new deal at the exact worst time (no one’s fault) and fixing it may take some time. One way to fix it or partially fix it is Adidas upping their annual NIL support. If that’s the path this thing would take that would be fine with me. In fact, I would prefer it. I don’t care about unis or merch or any of that sort of thing, never have, but it if they paid the school off by helping pipeline high end Adidas-affiliated kids, hello Darius Wabbington, into the program that would be juuuuust fine. Because they want to be a good long-term partner. And giving IU more support is a good ROI given the exposure Cig created and how much money IU is pumping into FB and MBB — rosters alone were around $10M in 2024 and now it’s $55M (rev share is in there but still a big increase). I’d guess out coaching staffs are up $25M too over that period too. I wouldn’t expect a top deal that comes from a renewal situation with Adidas and Nike in a bidding war. Adidas doesn’t have to do anything, But I would think something is reasonable as Adidas would surely agree our current deal is way out of market. More NIL or perhaps a blend and extend deal could work. If it’s more NIL I’m not sure how public that will be. I know Scott knows all this. I bring it up because it’s a lot of money and a source that doesn’t come from fans. Same with the jersey patch sponsor opportunity I know IU is working on but hasn't settled on someone yet. Fingers crossed that turns out well. Quote

That said, I think something can be done b/t IU and Adidas. Quote
