A freshman 6'7" 225lb guard that averaged 10 and 6 in 22 minutes being looked at to fill a back half of the bench role seems odd?

On this team that would have at least 4 if not 5 guards ahead of him, yea to me it’s odd.  If he was 35% from 3 on high volume maybe.  But as another poster said, in contact doesn’t mean we’re interested.

Looks more like a 4 than a guard.

In conference-- 28MPG 12p 8r

Parker had some huge rebounding games. In his last 15 games .. he avged 14p 9r

I'm not sure why this kids listed as a guard anywhere. He isn't. He's a 4.

I would like this add a lot.. (just looking at numbers and a short video).. we need another 4 more than a center. Plus he has 3 years..

Grab Parker-- a Hatton like center, and PG that's probably Hattons type level... and thats a solid roster.

I don't get your point.  Are you saying he shouldn't be interested because he would be a deep off the bench guy? Are you saying IU should only be interested in spot up shooters to finish off the roster? He is a physically imposing 6'7" 225# wing  that shot over 50% from the field.

IU doesn't have a single guy that can play the 3 with any experience and the only listed SF, Karvala, is 45 lbs lighter. Hell, his per40min rebounding # is better than Yigi and Sherrell's.  IU would be lucky to have that productive of a guy coming off the bench.

Not sure how you don't see a need for a physical wing on a team that doesn't have one that plays in the B1G.

He looks like a physical 3 with guard traits and a nose for rebounds to me. Calling him a guard seems like a bit disingenuous but that's how he is listed, He was a Sf on 247 as a recruit.

Yeah, I would love this low(er) key addition. It would allow CDD to play a very physical line up in the B1G when needed.

Thats as a transfer, as a recruit he was listed as a 4 and played the 4 for FAU.

Watched Parker against Temple this year. Dominated the glass. Looked way more physically imposing than 225. Wouldn’t call him a guard at all. Broadcast mentioned he was FAU’s highest rated recruit ever and that his older brother was an assistant on staff.

This would be a great pick up!

Looks like he was listed as a SF as a prospect by 247, and what little tape( highlights) that are available he looks like a classic 3. He almost always takes possession of the ball on the perimeter (not sure I saw one post up), handles the ball like a guard and can rebound like a PF. Needs work on his outside shot and I would be surprised if we got him,  but would be an absolute no brainer as a late pick up to play the 3 and give minutes at either the 2 or 4 if needed. That willingness to get after the rebound is almost unteachable.

FAU started

6'1

Kanaan Carlyle

6'5

Parker

6'10

Seems like he could compliment Sherrell well, if they are in the game together.

Seems like Trilly hinted something about Julius Halaifonua..maybe Kenny has the Georgetown connection there.

That would be absolutely impressive if they could get him as the backup 5.
