ESPN says Yardon Garzon is the #5 transfer in the entire women's basketball portal.

Not sure how that makes me feel.

It would be easier to root for her, if she were at Iowa State . . . or Clemson . . .or UNC. At least she didn't go to Purdue, right?

Any word on Laura Ziegler? I'm afraid to ask, for fear that it turns out she's going to Iowa or Ohio State. Ziegler could solve a lot of our problems.

Are we looking at her?

Riley Makalusky/Butler to West Virginia…..pretty good player….does this mean IU Ladies have a couple good 6’1” or 6’2” players in negotiations?….in all this nowadays ridiculousness?

So, a year or two ago IU Ladies were heavily involved recruiting Blakes who went to Vandy……and Zania Socka-Nguemen who followed Dudley to UCLA (Dudley mother coached both I think at some point).  IU Ladies were in top 5 for Socka-Nguemen and after committing to UCLA she was asked a question where she would have went if not UCLA.  Nguemen-Socka stated she wasn’t sure but said probably Indiana or Michigan.
(Some of these players have big ideas about how much they are going to impact their team when making transition from high school to being a freshman (or even sophomore) to college).

Both, Dudley and Socka-Nguemen are in transfer portal.  Not sure about any mutual interest between Nguemen-Socka and Indiana now.

sidenote: Have not heard anything about Williams/Wisky, Christen Carter/Butler, Makalusky/Butler, Ra Shaya Kyle/Florida among others nor any updates on IU Ladies.

FINALLY, IU Ladies Zania Socka-Nguemen

Definitely a risk, but given (potentially improving but still behind) NIL situation, best IU could do at center likely. She was stuck behind Lauren Betts last year which is nothing to be ashamed of. However, needs to prove it at college level but talent clearly there given she was top-30 recruit and McDonalds All-American out of high school.

Moren has never had a player that high straight out of high school (Makalusky is closest five spots behind her in current class). Only higher ranked transfers out of high school that eventually came to Bloomington were Patberg and Parrish who were hits and Danielle Patterson who busted.

Projected starting lineup in general of Shay, Lenee, Stotijn, Socka, and either Spreen or one of the freshman carries a lot more risk than past. However, the talent potential and athleticism is higher then previous.

IU Ladies are not done in transfer portal yet.

No doubt. However, as of this moment that would be their projected lineup.

" Socka-Ngueman picked UCLA over Indiana, Tennessee, and Michigan in October 2023. She was ranked No. 26 in the ESPN Top 100 for the Class of 2024, which would’ve made her one of IU’s highest-ranked commits in program history. She ranked higher than both Grace Berger (No. 44, 2018) and Mackenzie Holmes (No. 53, 2019)."

NO idea if this is accurate, but I hope it is.

And once again we see, when a team recruits somebody, you must KEEP RECRUITING them.
