It’s a good roster on paper. We’ll find out soon whether it’s a good roster on the court. Unfortunately, we’ll never know how good it truly could be because of the staff on the bench.

Wouldn’t the wins and loses determine this?

He deserves to make that list!  After seeing that, maybe he will get off his lazy a** and finally coach and recruit!

No.

poor coaching can be masked by superior talent. We should have the superior talent in almost every game this year but we won’t win almost every game this year.

Coach K could win a natty with this roster but with Woodson I don’t think that is even in the realm of possibility

Ok, I agree with this and it is what I’m afraid of!  Based on the schedule and the B10 being down, this is set up for Woodson to win at least 25 games but any team that is of equal talent but better coaching, we will lose

You’re afraid we are set up to win at least 25 games?

For crissakes … if the Hoosiers win at least 25 games this year or any season I will be ******* thrilled. If you don’t consider that good news, maybe it’s time to take a breath.

And , that’s what is wrong with this forum. Supposed “fans” rooting against IU because winning doesn’t fit their agenda

Sorry, I would be thrilled for us to win 25 games but I am not thrilled with the schedule and the fact it is set up for a loaded roster and mind numbing coach to win 25 games.  I just wished it was set up as more challenging to show Mike Woodson’s  coaching deficiencies!  That’s what I was meaning but stated it wrong!   I do want us to win and expect us to win but I think MW’s coaching deficiencies will be masked!  I sure hope you are right and this is his swan song!

After re-reading this, there really aren’t good ways to say what I meant but I did my best!!! I can not and will not ever root for us lose!

Again, admitting I stated it wrong!  Take a chill pill

Sometimes losing is better for the program. Losing last football season was by far the best outcome for the football program. If Allen had won another game or two, we don’t hire Coach Cig, and we wouldn’t be 7-0 hosting college game day tomorrow.

The worst thing for IU basketball is for Mike Woodson to still be the head coach this time next year. Whatever results we have to have this season to make sure that doesn’t happen, I do not care.

Gary Parrish is an Archie Miller simp. Does anybody still pay attention to him?

The Curt Cignetti hire will give Scott Dolson the decision making capital and license to keep or ‘retire’ Woody at Dolson’s discretion. That’s a fact, Jack.

Yes it will.  Football brings in the big revenue and Cig likes Dolson. Even if the board of trustees don’t want to they’ll get all types of pressure from rich donors to change course.

Woodson has Cook and Simons in his hip pocket. I just don't see Woodson walking away graciously (or any other way)... he will be dragged out kicking and screaming that he's done his job.

Agreed. Absolutely nothing we’ve heard about/seen from Mike Woodson suggests he’ll go away graciously.

The power of an AD with a strong football program is undeniable. Saw it first hand at Duke briefly ( nowhere near that of IU mind you. Because we have a large alumni). There was one donor who was not happy with the football coach and quickly all the others gathered together and told him to stfu.  If we make it to the college playoff all Dolson has to do is announce the firing and that’s that. Too much money at stake.
