I’m hearing no formal announcement coming.

Hopefully once Woody, his backers, and burners are gone Dolson will have the backbone and support to do what’s needed.

I wish for the players sake an interim move was made just to switch up the mojo, but the players probably still mostly back Woodson since they have all made bank together.

Chairman of Cook Medical, our biggest donor is Cook, so he is tight with the family.

He was a mentor to Woody when he was a player here.

He was a Trustee (Chairman for a while) and he knows everyone, including Governors.

He’s influential and will push for his old pals to get jobs at the expense of IUBB.

I may sound dumber than usual asking this question, but can I get a refresher on Ferguson? Is he just a big time booster? I am going to assume he is not the brightest guy when it comes to college basketball if he would throw a hissy because we gotta fire Woody...

This is from when Woodson got hired. Ferguson got the cooks to fund this fiasco for him.

No formal announcement seems monumentally stupid. Why have the conversation if you weren't going to announce it?

He was a great teacher and one of my favorite classes at IU. I don't think he hated sports, I think he hated that Knight was basically able to do whatever he liked without repercussions. He also wrote a book how 99% of athletic departments lost money for schools.

Just out of curiosity, I googled the name of the current owner of Cook Group. He's Carl Cook, son of the late Bill Cook. And Carl Cook is a Purdue grad (engineering) and earned his MBA from Iowa. If he wanted to get his MBA from IU, he could've done it easily but somehow chose Iowa. So a Purdue grad is one of IU's biggest donors. Thought it was interesting.

Ol Murray showed at a party at my frat around 2000-01. Just drank a couple beers, hung out in the corner and left. Didn't narc us or anything.

Listened to Eye on CBB on the way to the airport today, (IU starts a 35 minutes if anyone is interested) and the best part was Parrish taking a not so subtle shot at our “kinda sorta possibly open job.” He also reacted to the “unlikely to return next season” line with “no sh*t” lol

Edit: Also dragged (again I might add) for not canning him last year.
