I'm fully aware of his past transgressions. It's a complete non-starter for me given the circumstances and current nature of the sport.

He's served out his punishment and has earned a second chance.

McCollum is my choice if we have to go outside of Stevens or May.....He just wins...just like Cignetti...flying under the radar with the fans but he will get called up to a big school soon

In my opinion, the three best coaches who would actually take the IU job if offered are (in this order): Beard, Wade, Mack

1. At least now you're not justifying Wade by saying he's better than what you said were the people's choices, Schertz and McMillan. So that's good.
2. Wade is a complete untrustworthy scumbag. So yes, Brownell, while not my first choice, is a pro's pro of a college coach, a good, serious guy, and is therefore an infinitely better choice than Will freaking Wade.

Yet you have quite literally zero knowledge of what candidate IU could hope to hire, amirite?

For instance, they'd have a helluva chance of hiring Brownell, Devries, McCasland, or Micah. Any of them would give the program a much higher ceiling than Woodson and without the odious smugness of Wade.

Evidently not long enough to have fun with a running joke on BTB.   Yep Wade would probably kill it here and when he was at VCU in the college basketball thread I probably pointed out how much at the time I liked him and keep an eye on him.   Ran good stuff and won some games because of his coaching.   And then he went to LSU and his personality changed and he got cockier and got caught on tape offering big a.. offers.  Became a total slime ball and from that point on I hope he loses every single game and when he does lose he has a nice Crean Gif waiting for him

1. My comment was in reference to the potential pool of candidates once May and Stevens inevitably say no. Pearl, Drew, Wright, Donovan, McDermott, Buzz pick any other delusional candidate that isn't coming to IU. Will Wade is better than any realistic candidate that IU is likely going to hire.

I'll just say this.  Any coach who has been accused/guilty of breaking NCAA rules (especially under the table payments) should now get a pass for that transgression -- as there are no longer any NCAA rules.  Other legal and/or women issues, not so much -- don't need the headaches.

Coach incorporates more than just win/loss record, although that's a major component.

If you really think that Will Wade is a better choice to lead this program than McCasland, Devries, Brownell, or Micah? You are absolutely entitled to that opinion but I couldn't disagree more.
