Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Not sure if you work in aviation or some other form of LEO/Invest, but just wanted to say nice post and provide some dork information for anyone interested in flight tracking that I think is pretty cool...

Flight tracking for GA (general aviation) can be, by request, blocked from transmittal to flightaware, flightradar, et. al. via an FAA LADD request. LADD is Limiting Aircraft Data Displayed. It can now be done online (used to be email/regular mail), and can be removed (unblocked) and added (blocked) on request by the aircraft owner or legal representative. It is a fairly straightforward process. The FAA processes these requests on the first Thursday of each month, and if generally submitted early in the previous month, will go into effect.

So, for example, if Pfau knew he had a meeting with BS in Boston on December 20th, and wanted that flight information to remain private, a request to block on like 5 November will prevent us from tracking it, and can subsequently remove the block if so chosen. You could also not bother, and let the people conjecture on purpose (my favorite thought and personal choice as a resident IU tinfoil hat lol).

Now, that said, it is not fool proof (FBOs can be leaky with cool info) or if you had access to non-public flight data from ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast)-- but that data can be somewhat sketchy so to speak and requires access to other systems.

And of course, said rich person may simply not care, but it is fairly common amongst the billionaire types for privacy purposes.

Source: Long time in military aviation/flight planning/flight following, and civilian airport/airfield/FBO management.

Never know what I'm going to learn when I open this thread lol

New kid on the block bringing some juice to the thread, welcome aboard @jeffincol and thanks for the additional context OK.

I think I remember reading on Peegs that Jeff is a retired detective from Colorado. If I’m wrong @jeffincol

So only 10 games left ,how many games does IU have to lose before  MW  realizes its over ? Just trying to figure out how he keeps thinking he can turn this around .
He still thinks it's early in the season. I got 7 new players man. We are trying to figure it out just like everyone else. He seriously must think they play 82 games.

Retired LE yes, turned into systems analyst. But I'm very local to southern Indiana.

Thank you and please do.

I’ll share another story relevant to some of your expertise.

My son, again, was waiting tables and had an older couple in Celtics gear, it was this summer a couple days after the Celtics won the title. He says to them you must be happy and the couple said yes, especially since their son is the GM (which is funny as he is actually the President).  My son tells them he is a big IU fan and that we are always hoping Brad would coach IU.

His Dad says, “us too!  But he would never do that to Butler”

It is a Dad talking, who knows, and things obviously can always change, but I always found it interesting that he said that.

One can dream…

Probably the most accurate inside information posted in this thread.

Now back to tracking flights…

(I’ve really come to love coach search season)

It goes beyond ego with woodson. There is something mentally off. His inability to see reality or accept and sort of criticism makes me think he has other issues. He is just in LA LA Land

If and when it happens, I'll get excited. Otherwise, I'll believe it when he signs the contract and is in Bloomington.

Yep. You wait the the gut punch and the we just hired Michael Lewis and signed him for seven years.

Hahaha so true.

Years of heartache and soul crushing poor decisions from our beloved Hoosiers makes a 7 year contract with Michael Lewis or a lifetime contract with Randy Wittman all seem like realistic expectations.
