Josh Hallett?

That doesn't sound right but could be. It's been almost 30 years. He was red-headed and clumsy. Looked like a 7-foot Opie

So...with the weekend game being on Sunday as opposed to Saturday do we see ANYONE from the staff sporting the Trident at Sectional play tonight? (In particular a school in Hancock County)

I’m not sure they have a choice with how much of a disaster Wednesday night turned into for them.

I hope that you are right.

Here’s the deal: I love Woody. Any true IU fan that tells you different isn’t really an IU fan. That dude came back from back surgery in December 1979 to help us win a Big 10 title and I know that he cares about the program.

But as much as you love the dude as a player, sadly he just hasn’t been the answer as a coach. I sincerely hope he recognizes that and steps aside so we can still honor Him for the good that he’s done over the years for the university.

Can we not do the "true fan" thing?

Many of us don't remember or never saw Woodson the player so all we know is Woodson the coach. Are we really not "true fans" if we don't love him? 'Cause I don't. I was born in '77 so definitely don't remember the player.

Fans can love the school and team and still have different opinions on individuals, schemes, etc, and still all be fans. There is no one "right" way to be a fan. Some people wanted Woodson fired right after he was hired. Are they less fans than the large number of fans that want Woodson fired now because they wanted him fired earlier? Or are all of us who want Woodson gone not "real fans" because we don't think the IU administration and coaching staff can do no wrong?

Everyone around here knows I'm a proud Edgewood alum. And we were there at the same time :-)

And we beat Terre Haute North but lost to WRV

We lived on the west side of Elletsville near the HS when I was finishing school and working for the HT.  We left in 1995 but drove through recently and it seems the roads through town are completely different now.  Great little town.

Dang woke up this morning hoping for a B-day surprise or breaking rumor, I guess I will have to wait a little longer! Lol

Have you seen where people will put a note on their FB page about supporting some cause for their birthday and hoping people will contribute.  Well, i have an idea for you...

I bet a Graves was involved lol being from Clay City we know all about them! AJ was 4 years older than me. He and Brody Boyd at Dugger were the two best individual scorers I can remember in our small school area!

Yes, Andrew and Matt.

Brody was a stud, and so was AJ. Do might be too young but Brody's older brother Bennie Boyd was an unbelievable scorer too

That was my flimsy analogy to suggest that maybe Woodson is already a dead man walking.  I've seen several times over the years if an employee is placed on a PIP, then their fate is doomed and that it's merely a documentation tool to CYA.  Just spit-balling that maybe Dolson is doing the same thing.  Covering bases.

I know this is the perception, but I hate it.  I've given out a lot of PIPs, but I swear only 25% of the time do I want the guy gone.  Mostly my PIPs are given to employees who struggle with accountability and *whatever the PIP is based on*.  Once they determine to take accountability for poor performance, a pip is rarely needed.  I want them to stay, just get better.

I'd give Woody one of those 25 percenters though

Not him. I know a Josh Hallatt, also very tall and red headed as Chris mentioned. He's alive and well.

This is the guy I was thinking of, he coached nearby at Blue River Valley before getting the A.D. job at Randolph Southern.

Sorry, that’s fair.

I understand the angst with Woodson the coach. I have it as well. But as much as you can hammer him for his coaching ability, if you ever saw what he did on the court as a player, how much he sacrificed his senior year, you would have to give him his props.

As I said, I hope that we can somehow move on from his coaching era but still be able to recognize him for the IU legend that he is.

Both '75 and '76 teams were undefeated and were the best team the entire season.  Heck, the '76 team beat the NCAA runner up 3 times (a coworker of mine from Michigan claimed UM was the better team, but IU just "had their number" LOL).

The '81 team peaked exactly the right time and really destroyed all comers.

That was a great 29 years.  We expected to win every game, especially Wisconsin, Penn State, etc.  Beat  Michigan's Fab Four 3 or 4 times. So many great games. Watching this mess since then is like dating the hottest girl in school, then she dumps you and goes to prom with your best friend. Then they're voted King and Queen, and you have to go the prom with your sister!

Saw Brody play in the 2000 state finals against LCC. Dude was within range the minute he crossed the half court line

I understand that, but I feel I need to clarify that I don't believe that the actual head basketball coach for IU is on a traditional PIP per se, just saying I can see where has been approached by superiors that he's under a magnifying glass now.
