We would not have to pay his buyout if his contract says Indiana is a team he can leave for.

Unfortunately, I doubt there are many established coaches who have such a clause about IU.  Back in the day there were probably several.  Rick Majerus was quite possibly one.

I was just looking into this. Is there any way to know specifics like this in any coaches contract or are these kept under wraps?

I don’t think so unless the coach, his agent or the school make it public.

I was not saying you added that just that including that word did not change the idea that many in our fan base match how the media describes us.  You may not have been regularly criticizing Woody’s character as I described in my initial response.

 I also may be protective as I know the family and know a bit about him off the court.  I also am not convinced he can get it done here seeing posts calling him lazy, arrogant, stubborn etc just seem unnecessary.

I just want to run this by everyone because it is possible but unlikely.  What happens if IU finishes 7-0 or 6-1, that would put them at 21 or 20 wins and there is at least 4 quad 1 games left and let’s say they win all 4, couldn’t that put us back in the bubble conversation?  I probably won’t happen but if that were to happen, it would put a huge damper on this thread.  Personally, I think we will be lucky to win 2 of them, IMO

He's looking at a significant roster turnover next season and has locked down one player. 

And as others have stated repeatedly, Woodson has not signed a guard in over 27 months...

What a bang up job with recruiting...

I don't care how "connected" you are to the family, facts are facts ... he is stubborn (substitution patterns, coaching style, etc), and arrogant (refusing to answer a reporter's question because he didn't like what the reporter was asking him), and the cliche responses to "what went wrong" - throwing the team under the bus, saying we gotta get over the hump and gotta get back to work... no kidding, Woody?

Portal: so a guy has to hit on all the portal targets? MR, Ware, MM, X, Tamar Bates, Miller Kopp, all very good gets but miss on his guards and he is not good in the portal  

I do not disagree about him missing on guards and or over valuing what we had but even a very good recruiter does not get em all

MM wasn't a portal... he was a HS recruit that decommitted from Duke. Malik was not a portal.. he decommitted from Florida when Mike White left to take the Georgia job. And pretty sure that Bates was a HS recruit, too.

BTW, again, read what I wrote... I gave Woodson credit for both MM and Malik...

Happy with the next guy? Yeah, I hope so, too... FWIW, I was NEVER a fan of the Woodson hire, but here we are 3 years later still dealing with mediocre

On that list, Ware, X and Kopp were the only recruits Woodson got in the portal.  Reneau, Mgbako and Bates were HS recruits that decomitted from the colleges the originally they committed to during their senior year of HS

Fair point. Those guys were short recruits though so more similar to portal gets than a HS recruit but you are correct.
