Woodson is completely lost this program. The actual wheels are coming off the tracks…Buckner and May talking him into stepping down seems more probable by the day.

I really thought it would be a lot worse.

Woody will not be fired. He will resign on his own. As he should. This just isn’t his gig. I’m starting to hear it in his voice and some of his comments are not making any sense.

I like everyone else wanted this to work in the worst way.

Unfortunately…. It just wasn’t in the cards.

I hate that it’s got to end this way.

I really do.

Last year looked bleak at this point in the season, lots of posts about Woody losing the team, etc  and then we went on a run.  Do I think that will happen this year? No.

If the wheels do completely fall off, and Dusty makes another run, I could see Woody moving on (with a few million of spending money) and Dusty getting hired. Woodys catching a lot of crap, much of it deserved, but I think he really does love IU and wants the best for the school.

In regards to Dusty….Who knows, some of the “can’t miss” mid-level guys work out while others totally bomb. We will see.

I think the difference is that you could see last year's team being capable of making a run.  This year's team scraped by some pretty bad teams and hasn't show signs of defensively putting it together.

And not much help on the way for next year

I agree which is why I said I don’t think it will happen this year. To your point the defense is bad, plus we can’t rebound not to mention that our lack of perimeter threats on offense is crippling.

There is no tjd coming through Woodson's door probably ever again. Tjd made him look alot better than he ever was as a coach.

Do tell, or at least do tell when those bits are ‘tid-ded’.

This is in reply to someone else but I will use it as a jumping off point for some thoughts:

1. It doesn’t seem outlandish to me for a guy in Woody’s spot and age to just call it quits any old year. That said,

2. Surely you’d like to go out on a relative high, not an ebb, and

3. I’m skeptical the friends who wanted him to have the job in the first place would suddenly decide he’s not up to the task. So

4. I would imagine he’d stick it out for at least another year.

5. Relatedly, for any number of (contractual, optical) reasons, IU isn’t going to run him off this offseason.

6. I’m not super optimistic they’ll suddenly be title contenders, but programs, teams, coaches come back much better after years like this all the time. Let’s retain some key guys, flip the roster, and let CMW ride off into the sunset with a tournament berth at least

7. I have less knowledge of FAU’s situation but a cursory glance at the roster, plus May’s decision to stay put (and impressive ability to keep it together) last offseason suggests timing makes sense for him to put together one more run at FAU after this year.

8. I get that on the surface you can see May as a Rorsharch test to project your hopes or fears onto, but man, he’s gonna get a high-major shot at some point and I think he’s got The Juice.

In the presser Woodson almost defended Gunn... he called it a "semi-elbow". THIS IS EXACTLY THE ISSUE. There are never consequences for this bush league crap... Woodson needs to go NOW.

Dolson needs to know this conduct that we see is embarrassing to the University.

where is he in all this?
