I just read an article on InsideTheHall that Chloe Moore-McNeil pulled her teammates together after they got crushed by Standford 96-64 and she called her teammates “soft” and then Coach Moren criticized her team.  Since then they have won 11 straight!  That is the type of Leadership we need and aren’t getting.  It needs to come from Trey Galloway, Anthony Leal or Anthony Walker.  The most likely should be Walker who is a 5th year senior, accepted his role, has been playing well of late, and played on a Final 4 team.  If this team wants to turn around the season that all the nay sayer’s and stats are saying, then something needs to happen and soon. It can’t come from X because he’s one of the biggest problems, IMO.

We need that but Trey needs to lead by example. He has been no showing way too often and has had that blank stare on his face that seems like he doesn't care at times.

Yeah, I really don’t get that with this team. We need some TJ D and some Victor Oladipo emotion out there.

Michigan just got beat by Minnesota in Ann Arbor, I have doubts that win is going to look all that great as the BIG season drags on.
Yep the chest pounding on our michigan win doesn't look so good now. Michigan is really bad. And winning at minnesota will be no easy task

Who’s chest pounding?   Random people on a free message board?    Still a Q2 road win

Yes random people were talking about how great of a win it was. It's a road win but won't mean squat if Michigan is a bottom feeder.

Bruh who here is "chest pounding" about beating Michigan? Nobody.
You can be displeased with the state of this program without making up a narrative that a majority of fans are content/complacent with being mediocre.
Making a balanced statement that this team, which is not having a very good year, has still had its moments and that it's a long season is not "chest pounding." It's just a reason to not always be so doom and gloom. Starting to believe some of these guys think there's an award for being the biggest negative Nancy or that it somehow makes them a better fan. Lolz
Nope nobody enjoys doom and gloom but that's the reality of the current situation until proven otherwise.

Yes, where the heck is that type of emotion?  I have only seen it once out of Ware but not really anyone else doing much chest pounding

Depends what their NET ranking ends up being at the end of the year.   If they are a bottom feeder and their NET is 135 or better then that win is still a Q2 win.   Fans can say the road win won’t mean squat but  in committees eyes it’s still a Q2 win regardless of what fans think of Michigan.   Even if they stink it’s still a win away from home.   Teams usually need 4 wins away from home if they want any chance at an at-large bid.      Good win for the Hoosiers as of today and it’s still IUs best win of the year

Hopefully many more to come, but things have to change in a hurry

This game seemingly had a negative impact on fans opinion of Woody. Alot of unhappy fans after this one. Rightfully so I guess. My daughter still thinks iu can win the big 10 lol

Yep, this game could be where we look back at the turning point from the general fan perspective.  Hoping Woody can overcome it.  No confidence in him this year. I’ve been waivering a lot while being slightly optimistic. This season, this team, and this game pushed me to the other side. I’ll have to see a lot to be won back over.

All of the above and the recruiting prospects for 2024 and beyond. I just don’t honestly think he can turn the corner and get it done.

I talked to a knowledgeable Syracuse grad prior to the game expecting he would agree it would be a tough game.  Instead he surprised me by saying  “we kill teams with midget guards like you guys”. 5’11” Hulls, basically playing with a sling, and 5’11” freshman Yogi got eaten alive on the perimeter by their 6’7” lottery pick guard. Cody had a very bad game. It was a terrible match-up and match-ups matter in the tourney. In the following game Syracuse held Marquette to 39 points.
I’m not saying Crean did a great job but sometimes it seems like people think we lost to UE.

There once was a time Indiana started 2/ 6’ guards against this same vaunted defense with 2/ 1st round draft picks on their team. That game resulted in our last National Championship, and The General’s third.

The fact we only have one guy signed and will lose our best player really is what makes the situation look even more dire. 2024 was supposed to be the monster class but it's only one guy. We might get a few more but that's no guarantee.

I listened to Podcast On the Brink with host Alex Bozich and his guest was Ryan Corazza and they are saying a lot of the same things the many of us are but what I took from the entire segment was Woody’s stubbornness and unwilling to change his style of play.  They said that he doesn’t have the personnel to play his style if defense and it’s like he is setting them up to fail.  It’s a good listen, I’ve attached in case anyone else wants to listen.

Yes, I think that was RMK’s greatest championship accomplishment as the ‘87 squad was not nearly as loaded as the ‘76 and ‘81 teams (not to mention that the ‘87 Syracuse team Knight beat had a ton of talent).

There were a number of differences, however,  between the two games including the obvious coaching difference between RMK and Crean. No contest.
The Crean team got crushed on the perimeter but  I would take a senior Alford and a junior Smart over a hobbled Hulls in a sling and a freshman Yogi (and the Knight guys each had 2-3” on the Crean guys) every day of the week. Alford hit 7 threes, there is no way an injured Hulls or a freshman Yogi could have done that under any coach. Alford and Smart combined for 44 points (17-30) vs Hulls and Yogi playing 50 minutes and both going scoreless. Hulls was injured and they were dominated by Syracuses 6”4 and 6”7 guards (the ‘87 and ‘13 Syracuse defenses were not the same).
Hulls getting injured was a big deal as he and Yogi only combined for 5 points in the previous game, which we could have easily lost, vs Temple.

Also, in ‘87 it helped tremendously that Syracuse wet the bed down the stretch. We played well but if Syracuse had hit their free throws there never would have been the Smart shot. Shite happens in a single game elimination tourney.
