You have know Trish’s history….shows up when IU is doing badly then disappears.

And it’s funny every time. A very smart, funny bit he has going. I always get a chuckle out of how funny and smart it is.

So ugly. Needed that one bad, but goodness gracious this team is something awful.

2nd half. Galloway played so hard. Mgbako is giving better effort. I really like Reneau. But overall such a flawed team. We play so slow.

Was Reneau getting into it with a fan at the end? Something has him pissed off.

It'd be a boost of Mgbako's shooting improved. 3-14 and 0-5 from 3, oof.

I actually don't mind margin of victory being more of a factor now. I was going back over our scores today, and with this one included, I believe we've only scored seven more points than we've allowed this season. That's usually not the hallmark of a good team.
We are barely beating the types of teams we would normally beat by 25 to 35. It wasn't just tonight it's been every home game.

Yep key word here is beating teams.   Come selection Sunday as long as IU has enough wins against tournament quality teams these close games against lesser competition are just wins.  However 2 less points and games like this are a loss instead of a win then you  have a landmine Q3 or Q4 loss on your resume.  Big difference

I mean, we won.  I just wish we won bigger so we didn't have these blemishes against mediocre Ohio Valley schools.

So a 1 point win against a garbage team is better than a 1 point loss?  Phew...I feel better now.  Extensions all around!

Yep  a 1 pt win against the Ohio Valley preseason favorite is a Q3 home win which is better than a 1 pt home loss which would have been a Q 3 loss.   I feel the same about this team as I did at the beginning of the year.   Flawed basketball team that will be a borderline tourney team

MR should have kicked that back out. MM has to have the ball when we will be getting free throws

Thank you.  Just a horribly selfish play by MR.  Great board, goes up against 3 guys rather than toss it back out to burn clock and in the hands of a good free throw shooter.  Gets bailed out on the foul ball and then misses both free throws.  He’s my least favorite player in years….

That’s one of the advantages of NET as a selection tool vs pure-predictor or efficiency rankings.

Morehead isn’t awful either. About 150ish in kenpom style rankings. With their guards they could have a good conf tourney run and land in the big dance.

With that said, the W is about the only good thing you can take from that game. Would feel near catastrophic with a loss, even though teams occasionally do lose those games. I still like scheduling them better than all 300+ ranked teams.

Their NET was 124 before the game against IU which was 110.   A 1 pt loss for them will probably move them up a couple spots while IU will drop some

Don’t usually post things like these but this hit me while scrolling Twitter. Really cool stuff. Little positivity on a negative night

I love Galloway but….. In order to take that next step. He needs to be our 3rd best guard. He will learn this year the leadership traits needed for next year. I think he’s what Indiana is all about.

Unless he has a gear we haven’t seen yet.  But these guys doing the stars suck.

He wasn't known for his athleticism when we were recruiting him. McNeeley isn't either, he's skilled and gets by on understanding positioning and angles.
