You're telling me that an AA, two frosh that played for one of the elite prep schools winning two national championships, and a coaches son don't understand the game?

There are some on this team that I would buy not understanding the game. I don't think we have a team full of players who are just not basketball players or don't understand the game.

Jerome Hunter struggled here. He's been contributing to a winning effort lately when Sean Miller told him he was done shooting threes. When do we get a coach that sets roles and players execute those roles in a winning cause? When do we get players that are put in position to succeed by the coach?

If only 1 or 2 players understand the game, the other 3 F it up for the team.  Out of place, over help, won't shoot from 10 feet, dribble into double and tripple teams, fail to guard the 100% 3 point shooter, don't move without the ball, etc. etc. etc.  Why are the doing things that Woody isn't even telling them to do?

Who do you think should coach this team?  I don't think i've ever seen you post who it should be.

I didn’t want to do it, but I listened to CMW postgame. Tired of the that’s on me, however, color me shocked that he actually called JG and Kopp out. Will it help probably not, as I posted earlier I think Kopp is a headcase at the moment and I’m not sure Woody will bench him at all.

Because they hear Woody and aren't listening? They don't truly respect or believe in him? They don't have enough pride?

Or...

Woody and staff aren't using the correct means to get through to the team? They're not teaching or instructing proper techniques? They're scout and game plan is off?

Edit: they're not reinforcing what they are instructing/teaching i.e. using the bench/playing time as a reminder

IDK, but they aren't teaching rocket science.  It's freaking basketball.  Many players aren't even doing the rudamentary basketball things that they should have learned by high school.

Names?

IU shouldn't be a difficult place to win but it's the situation the administration has put us in. As USPS has mentioned several times, you need either a system or talent to win. To win at an elite level, you need talented players that fit your system. We currently don't have the foundation conducive for elite talent. There are many reasons for that. I would focus on a coach with a system that can win at a high major who develops players and teams. The development isn't just in individual basketball skills but focuses on hard work (actual hard work not the BS talk about it), leadership, and identifies players with the right mindset. That carries over to bring together the right pieces and building a team with the same work ethic and mindset.

We supposedly shot our shot with Stevens and now it has come out he used us. We're not going after any questionable character proven winners and proven winners with good character aren't giving IU a chance to talk. I believe it was Stevens or maybe another elite level coach who said they wouldn't work for or were warned about the IU administration.

In the end, it doesn't matter why they aren't performing well.  Teams don't get fired.  Coaches do.  So if the team isn't responding, the coach better find a way to get them to.

Kopp played 29 minutes.  He can't bench himself.

I'm not a fan of calling out a player in the media.

Maybe Woody has reached his last nerve. You know he heard about all the social media crap and so on. Maybe this is just the next step. Maybe idk.

This team is the most pathetic group of losers to ever put on an Indiana uniform and that includes the team that went 6-25 creams first year. Fire Woodson and clean house and bring in guys that want to win basketball games. **** this.

Unfortunately, it’s in IU’s DNA to be sub par. Has been for years. However, we have reached a new depth of disparity which seemed unfathomable.
I’ve come to the conclusion that it would be easier to cure world hunger than to cure what ails the IU Basketball program.

Right now, this program is in I”C”U.

I appreciate the overall effort Kopp gives, but he's (evidently) limited in how well he can defend.  On offense, he's a capable shooter but has the exact opposite of a "killer instinct".  In fact, no player on this team seems to have it.  We have some guys that can flex and act hard against lesser opponents but go full "*****" against better squads.

That type of winning attitude & resolve isn't learned - it's inate.

How many times last night did the replay show Kopp packing the lane and leaving a hot shooter wide open?  Too many!!!

You can see in the replays he was like "s***, my guy is open again.  18 3's tells me it didn't register.
