Wow. That's a lot for Emory Jones if that number is a far market representation.

I was thinking the same. I just remind myself that this is a valuation and by no means a concrete value. This website might be way off. Or it might be spot on. All of this is uncharted waters so I have a feeling these types of websites might be trying to figure things out themselves.

Yeah, I’d say it’s a data point but by no means the whole story on a kid’s value. On3’s valuation explanation is a bunch of gibberish, imo. Not sure how they can pull 27 years of data on something that has existed for 18 months. (I may also just be dumb, in fairness)

IU and Cincy probably aren’t shelling out $275k for a QB and those are the 2 visits I’ve seen for him. I do like the idea of having that type of kid in Bloomington though. He’s got some Bazelak to him in that he’s frustrating, but he has athleticism to make up for it. I’m curious where the connection to the IU staff comes from.

Here's the thing though, Jones knows about on3 and his valuation. He's the one that currently has the leverage.

Also, Cincy might actually be shelling out that kind of cash. They played in the CFP last year for crying out loud. IUFB, not so much.

All of this is just so new and unknown. It's a bit frustrating if I'm being honest. But that's where we are now and this is part of the recruitment process.

Just to make everyone even more confident in the direction of the program, Indiana is down to 9 commitments in the class of 2023. AJ Thomas a 3 star recruit flipped to Tulane last night.

Makes sense, he's from Louisiana. IUFB was his only P5 offer.

After flipping from LA Tech to Indiana. Not saying things are going great, but using a flip flopper who's from the state he's flipping (again) to, is not necessarily the best example to prove the point. He had also been committed to IU for three months. Also, this class wasn't supposed to have more than 12-15 high school recruits from what I had read previously. So the number of high school recruits for this class was always going to be on the smaller side.

Jack Tuttle just committed to...Michigan.

Alrighty, then.

Quick edit: This has to be a decision based on education, in which case good for him.

Figured he go somewhere he could actually get playing time

Yes, because how much he plays if much… JACK TUTTLE IS AN EXCELLENT QUARTERBACK.

On top of Tuttle, AJ Barner has also received 2 crystal balls to Michigan. One from a UM writer and one from a national writer.

That hurts...

I had a couple discussions with a current IU coach that thinks Varner will be a pro.

I'd say there's very little doubt. He's by far more talented than Hendershot, who is having a great year for a UDFA. Just needs to play somewhere where he can get the ball, which unfortunately is apparently a team in our division lol.
