reconmkd Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Just now, IU Scott said: Whatever the yardage it shows he isn't a statue in the pocket No he’s not. OS is my alma mater so I try to keep track of both sports. Just saying that he posted those numbers with a half way decent OL. No knock against him just a knock against our OL. Quote

(sorry if I have you confused, I know we have an OSU fan here somewhere) Lol whoops just saw your post above. Disregard! You found me, lol. Yes I’m an alum had to find a school for an ag degree as far away from PU as possible. johnsoniu and Hovadipo 2 Quote

The Clemson kid had 7 catches for 70 yards in 13 games this season. 9 catches for 66 yards in 8 games in 2021. If that’s our “flat-out home run pickup,” yikes.. And the Wake Forest kid had 516 yards on 4.0 yards per carry. Those are Shaun Shivers numbers. We’re rearranging chairs on the Titanic and still have no one to play QB next year. If QB can’t get them the ball does it matter? Not sure our receivers were terrible last year but guys get tired of the QB laying on the ground before half their route is run. Quote
Hovadipo Posted January 7, 2023 Author Posted January 7, 2023 Assuming Camper is healthy, we added a major (albeit unproven so far) talent, and a guy with major production (albeit in FCS). I’m not worried at all about our WR room, and they have a damn good position coach in there too. Like everyone else has said, just need someone that can get them the ball. If they figure that out, I think the offense will have a better shot at producing with the addition of Bostad. Edit: it isn’t lost on me that there is a lot of assuming and if’s heading into 2023 lol. Our only certainty is uncertainty at the moment. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

Got Camper, McCulley and Cooper and the two transfers so who else do we have left Quote

Was hoping to see some OL transfers before positional players. The staff has to realize how bad they have been protecting the QB like what seems forever! By the excellent memory on the OS thing, lol. Alford Bailey Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Trying to think of guys who transferred in from higher profile programs under Allen and had a major impact offensively. Drawing a blank. Quote

Those 4 you listed plus even one of the transfers working out is already a solid group. Waiting for Jaquez Smith to break out as he was very highly touted. I like the big Greenlow kid we got from California, but he’ll just be a freshman. I thought Andison Coby was a solid depth guy last year too. Quote

Last season he was 19/10 for 2,677 yds. He has 508 career rushing yards. And this was behind a fairly decent OL. So is he kinda a Peyton Ramsey skill set? Quote

Overall their stats were similar. There are a few good videos of Nolan on the ESPN app. Hovadipo 1 Quote

reconmkd Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I guess it really shouldn’t shock me all that much but the social media/media reactions to the new editions has blown me away. It’s almost beyond being gullible. Seriously, yes the additions could prove to be nice but how has there been not any attention given to our biggest priority (not qb). I’ve seen Allen digging in his bag of tricks, IU football is back, No need to apologize for getting off….we welcome you back on the #IUFB train. Christ will this fan base ever learn and stop falling for the hype! Quote

We have no idea one way or the other if this class will be different than the past year's. It is the off season so let people have some joy if they like what they see. When the season starts and these players don't work out then there is plenty of time to tell people told you so. Quote
