I actually liked that tight formation for the onside kick. Try to kick a slow one to the sideline and have a foot race with the end guy before it hits the sideline. Oh well.

Targeting has zero to do with intent.  Leading with your helmet has nothing to do with whether it was intentional or not.  And reviewing it has nothing to do with finding out whether it was leading with the helmet or taking a blow to the head.  It's irrelevant if the intent was to do so or not.

Taunting.....I would more likely agree with you.  But in this case we had a player standing near another player whose offense was.....crossing his arms.  He didn't say anything to him (I replayed to see if he had and he didn't).  He didn't get in his face.  He didn't impede him from getting up.  I can see zero 'interpretation' of how that was taunting given what IS allowed to go on during and after plays.

Look on the bright side.  IUBB season opens on Oct. 29, in an exhibition game against Marian U.  Women's basketball opens its season on Nov. 4, against Kentucky Wesleyan.  Weekends are about to become much more enjoyable.

Can we revive my Fire Tom Allen thread? I know it won’t happen anytime soon because of the terrible buyout we inflicted upon ourselves, but a guy can dream. It’s year 6 and the program is a disaster. 1-12 in the conference between this year and last. Nonexistent skill players. A defense that gets carved up by a backup qb. The problem will be in a very ugly place by the time we’re able to fire him.

Are we that masochistic that we allow ourselves to think that each year will be a good football season?  We suck at this game and except for those rare years when the sun, moon and Telly Savalas' bald head align we always suck.    Maybe we should try foosball rather than football.  It is embarassing and sadly, it's hard to take exception to the Cro-Magnon chants from the PUkesters because they're right.  IU football sucks.
