I am excited for Indiana basketball.

We have a lot to look forward to in a short period of time.

Baylor on Sunday at 1pm.

In 8 days on Nov 1: Karvala decision (reportedly IU lean)

On Nov 9: Diane decision date... and Marquette in Chicago

Rabby apparently thinks we're now in the mix with Diane. He's taken all his officials except for Houston this weekend, and rumor has it we are outbidding Houston. CDD and Kenny were in to see him right before his Houston trip and on the heels of his OV with us. Who knows if he can create a bidding war in the next two weeks and how that will go.

BUT... putting on my cream and crimson glasses for a moment

If the fall HS class ends up as PAM (108 overall / #15 CG), Karvala (47 overall / #19 SF) and Diane (17 overall / #1 C) that would be a hell of a class.

And without overpaying for Thompson, Allmond, or Taylor who they prioritized. That would be an excellent job by the staff. And they'd likely have plenty of cash ready for the portal. IMO this season is going to be fun. Eager to see where things stand a year from now.

As far as I'm concerned, we'll get neither of the 2 and PAM will de-commit.....................I'm kidding, PAM won't de-commit

Louisville basketball misses out on another top 2026 target to SEC giant https://share.google/Eduw7GtoRmDL0MQUK

I guess other teams are struggling to get commits in this class

These HS kids have to go somewhere, but with NIL and the portal, I'm not overly concerned about missing on a few... certainly not to the hand-wringing level. We'll get what we need, and will be able to grab some of these guys on the second pass.

Vaughn Karvala, Come on down You're the next contestant on the Price is Right.

Karvala sounds pretty solid for IU.  Buzz I've seen on Johnson is South Carolina with his cousin.

And South Carolina it is. I don’t care how bad they want a ‘26 PG, can’t stress enough how ok I am with nothing coming of this one. That family is a problem.

Posting solely because of the Indiana high school connection.  I think Woody may have kicked the tires on Hall at one time but I don't know if DDV has ever expressed any interest.

2026 prospect DeZhon Hall plans to return to his home state of Indiana and transfer to Crispus Attucks HS (IN), sources tell @madehoops . Wisconsin has been in heavy contact with him recently, as well as St. Bonaventure, Minnesota, and others in contact with him.

Purely FWIW.  Washington had an offer from WVU while DDV was its head coach.  And he played HS ball in Murfreesboro, TN so there's a good chance he's familiar with Rod Clark.

FWIW, he committed to Bama on September 8th, and then over the next month took official visits to Nova, Auburn, and Cincinnati.

So this is kinda a weird one! Doesn't feel like an IU possibility given the recent official visits.

A world class example of equating leaping ability and athleticism. He can really jump, particularly off 2 feet, and he runs pretty well. But he’s not twitchy. He’s average laterally. He’s high cut and doesn’t bend his knees. Average hands. Not strong. And yet if you read about him everything will be some derivative of, “he might be the best athlete in the ‘26 class.” Nope. Not saying he’s not talented because he is, but that one is one of my pet peeves. Not the kid’s fault,  just lazy evals.

Basically yeah, though he has better hands and fluidity. But he’s been 1 of the highest rated kids in the class for years based on the perception of huge projectability and so far it hasn’t happened. But he’s 18, so if they want to get in on him that’s fine by me.
