I agree, and that is precisely why us expecting him to become a consistent 3 point shooter is a long, long shot.

Lonzo Ball figured out a way to make his funky form work for him. Although, I believe he’s adjusted while in the NBA. So, there is some hope.

As much as Lavar tainted his own family for years before thankfully disappearing, that is an absurdly talented pair (sorry, Gelo) of kids. They could probably make just about anything work. I don’t think Trey was born with quite as much of an advantage lol.

Sampson recruits dawgs.  That’s his style and his trademark. It often works.  I feel like Baylor has that style too.  Who else fits this as a program?  MSU and Izzo generally too.  Not sure it works at IU, unfortunately.

I feel like X has some of this in his game. I feel like Stewart does too he just doesn’t have the physical gifts to really make it work for him fully.  Galloway has that some.

I'd put Texas Tech in that category. psu has that fight but lacks the talent of the other teams. Wiscy plays a slightly altered version of it but they have players that will fight.

I would say you forgot Geronimo.

geronimo, X, Galloway are the only three on the team that I think fit that description

I think Trey can fine tune his shooting with the form he has.  He just needs to put in the work everyday.  X is a respectable shooter, look at his ugly-a$$ form!

This. If X can get up to 38.3% this year with that form? Galloway can too.

Lonzo fixed his jumper. Shooting much better percentages from 3. It can be done. No different that fixing a golf swing. Need a good coach and commitment to getting a ton of reps in.

For every Jim Furyk you have 10,000 @Josh. You can make an ugly swing/shot work but it makes it more difficult. Agree, you can fix it but do we have players that want to fix it and will put in the required reps?

The trick is to play with guys worse than you.  I haven't lost in years

I keep hearing from people who know more about his hs wrist - hand injury that his shot has never been the same, i dont know if it’s about continuing to work on his outside shot (i know he has been) or it’s that with the wrist injury (and his injury this season) it’s just screwed up his shooting ability— hope not

Wasn't his wrist injury this season on his left?

His free throw form is fine.
His floater shot form is fine.

I’m no shooting instructor, but it looks like he shoots with his feet wide and his shoulders hunched forward from distance.
