Get it done. Do a double header. Men's NIT and then Women's NCAAT. Do. IT.

You have to remember that there would be two other teams playing an NCAA game that day. So there would be 4 other teams in the building that day instead of 2. Not sure how we would make this work, logistically speaking.

I'm glad our AD is at least on board with hosting games however possible. Glass probably would have had the men's team go on the road so the players wouldn't have to hear any boos.

Those other teams can go play outside like the losers they are.

Had a delayed flight, so I got home in time just to see us make our run in the second half. At no point did I even contemplate that we might win.

With that said, I give them credit for playing hard and a close game. I predicted worse.

I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do as a coach when you continually get your best shooter open looks and he bricks them in big moments. I have zero faith in any of our “shooters” at this point.  You also got your best player a run at the hoop on the last oob play and your upperclassman inbounding the ball makes a lazy throw. Maddening if your on the staff.

I like our personnel less and less each game. Probably a good thing for me the season is about over. :/

You stick him on the end of the bench instead of continually rolling out the same lineup and watching them make the same dumb mistakes.  It doesn't matter if the alternatives aren't great, you have to try something different, because anyone with any sense knew exactly what was going to happen...and it did...again.

He did hit a big three at the end of the game against Rutgers.  I wish the other alternative of Bates was hitting, but he’s not.

Who else on this team has shot 3’s decent enough to warrant PT.  He’s been our best 3 point shooter, which isn’t saying much, but he just isn’t our best clutch 3 point shooter.  I don’t think we have one of those; therefore, I guess Stewart is the best option.  Even though he hasn’t proved it all year, I would like for us to set up that exact play for Kopp because at least he was hitting his.  Finally, I noticed the Stewart is more of a catch and shoot guy and hasn’t shot it well when he’s on the move like that

In Zellers two years.... We beat Purdue by 17 at their place and by 11 a month later in 2012. In 2013 we beat them by 37 at Mackey and 28 at home... Good times.

Zeller gave us 2 great seasons.  Yogi gave us 1 and Jared Jeffries gave us 1.  That’s our past 20 years summed up.

Basically. Eric Gordon would have gave us 1 great one but the IU brass had to virtue signal so they could sit upon their losers pedestal.

I’m still trying to figure out why we would even accept an NIT invite. Can’t imagine the upper classman want to play in it. Not sure any of the transfers deserve more time in an IU jersey. Galloway and Lander aren’t playing. So we’re trying to get Geronimo and Bates more minutes?

If we’re not dancing, we should wrap up the season and start focusing on the off-season.

RP had hit some huge shots in his career and earlier this year against PU

Why?

You have a coach with 0 post season coaching experience in college.    If he is your guy any post season experience is needed.   Extra practice time with players.   As a program you have not played in any post season in 6 years.   Program isn’t in any position to turn down a post season opportunity even if it is the NIT.    Not one player on this roster has played in the post season(unless Durr and Kopp played in the  nit).  If players are returning that gives them experience and depending on the run some momentum heading into next year.  Many teams have used a NIT run the year before to fuel a good run the next year

Purdue and IU both come to mind back in Woodson ’s days.

I don’t think the NIT has any relation to the NCAA tourney. The BTT is more comparable from an experience standpoint.  The teams are better and is a neutral court experience.

This team has had plenty of practice together and plateaued two months ago. Our problem isn’t practice; it is talent. Might as well get a head start on other programs in the talent department.

Outside of Bates, Geronimo, Lander (maybe), and Galloway I’m pretty ambivalent on any of the other players being here next year. To the extent any of them are getting minutes because the aforementioned guys or frosh haven’t passed them we’re in trouble. I’m assuming TJD is gone.

Back then 32 teams (maybe less) made the NCAA’s. The NIT was still a decent tourney with some upper echelon maj conf teams who didn’t make a much smaller NCAA field.

Todays NIT is nothing like that.

Why wouldn't you, are you saying we are too good to good to play in the NIT  You get more practice time and games.  I don't care for the NIT but if we don't make the tournament you take the bid.  RMK wasn't to good to take the bid in 85 after his worst season at IU.  We went to the championship game of the NIT and two years later won the national championship.

We played in the NIT in 2019
