Chuck Crabb Retires

. Indiana basketball simply won’t be the same.

Giant shoes to fill for whoever gets the role. The school I’m at has an announcer that sounds very similar to him. It was the first thing I noticed at this school. LOL

Isn't it kind of curious why retired "immediately"?

Hope he doesn't have any health issues.

Him & Fisch are the classiest, bestest guys around BBall.

I've had co-workers who were beloved but hated the spotlight that retired quickly and silently on many occasions.

The thing that gives me pause is the timing. True Chuck Crabb fashion would be the dead of summer when absolutely nothing is going on around the athletics campus, they drop a quick press release, and that's it. But right in the middle of mens and womens basketball season is a little odd. I sure hope everything is ok.

Tom Brew on twitter said he just had an hour long conversation with Chuck. Chuck said "he is healthy and feels fine, but recent events told him its time to go enjoy retirement."

In other news, I just found out that my son has a travel archery tournament on Saturday. I am going to miss most of the game, NOOOO! I haven't missed a game all year. They better have good cell reception down there!

I hear you, but if Chuck had asked Dolson to keep it quiet, I'm sure Scott would have, and still be on the search for his replacement. Maybe the decision has already been made. I don't think any of us know yet, I just hope his retirement wasn't health related. He's a year or so younger than me, and you can bet your back-side I'd still be working the PA to get to see games from the front row no less.

No health issues, his wife bought a house in Florida last year and is living down there. John Harmon passing away at 66 after working for Chuck for 25 years really hit him hard. He decided he wanted to do it immediately was the way it was explained to me.

This is what i read as well.   Hopefully Fisch doesn't get any ideas.
