Candidate Thread: Brad Stevens (Boston Celtics)

Recommended Posts

Haven’t seen Smith play but the profile makes me think loosely of Payton Pritchard, the sort of guy who can be a role player on a good team from day 1 and might someday be the most important player on a different good team.

Saw a new flight on peegs chat. Today I think. Bedford MA to Indy

There’s actually two flights... both NetJets.

Boston Logan to Indy Exec (right outside Zionsville)

And this one from Bedford to Indys main airport..

Do you have any comment on that Beilein/Fife stuff that fpeaugh is putting out?  He has been right before.

Fpeaugh’s MO is basically to commit to a well trafficked rumor, hope it turns out true, then say something changed last minute when it doesn’t come to be. Nothing he’s ever been “right” about was ever a truly new piece of info

Just so people are clear, the Celtics will be in the playoff hunt for the foreseeable future.

Remember the top 10 seeds essentially make the playoffs now.

So this delusional hope that the Celtics are all of sudden be a lost cause is kind of ridiculous.

To add to that, the Celtics are currently the 7th seed in the East, but are just 1 game out of the 4th seed (which is Charlotte and Ball is out the rest of the season), with their next 7 games at home. It will be key to get Tristian Thompson and Evan Fournier out of the Covid protocols soon, but the Celtics are in decent shape to solidify things. Not saying a title run or anything, but they'll be solidly in the playoffs.

I wouldn't say troll more like a jacka$$. But he's been right some in the past.  You just have to think if they were hiring Beilein that it would've been announced a while ago.

He has been what may be considered trolling on Rivals.  He also puts out the word but has missed every single big one that I can remember including Romeo,  and a previous coaching search 4 or so years ago.

Oh yeah I remember that time he was right about IU hiring Billy Donovan. The last 4 years with Billy as the coach have been great.

The story was something along the lines of his source being the person driving Donovan around Bloomington

Oh I remember.

The alternative scenario I have considered with fpeaugh is that he truly believed these things, but is to dumb to realize that his “sources” are just continually pulling his leg

Could you all see Dolson dragging this out intentionally until a combination of TexTec, Ark, or Baylor are knocked out thereby allowing BS to have one last chance to say “no?” before Dolson goes in for a 1b candidate?

(maybe Bama, too?)

I can see a scenario where Ainge tries to push Stevens out to save his job if the Celtics miss the playoffs or a 1st round exit. And say Stevens wasn’t getting it done or something along those lines. A lot of the roster moves is all on Ainge anyways. I don’t know, I think I’m stretching on this one
