Maybe because DeVries had tremendous LONG TERM success at Drake and has WVU in the tournament.

Curry now talking IU. Thinks Iowa will open, but with terrible NIL. McCollum would go there and deal with bad NIL, Devries will not because WVU NIL is better.

Curry says McCollum’s jump from Drake to IU would be gargantuan for the non-basketball stuff.

I don't know why they would think they could get DeVries from WVU when he just got there.

I guess the buyout isn't so huge but I didn't think Iowa is a big spender in basketball.

Yup…there’s a lot more to be the coach at Indiana than just a great bench coach. It’s an enormous leap to make… that’s very risky to put it lightly.

Yeah and would DeVries want that? I know the Iowa connections but in 2025, with public NIL issues, is Iowa a better spot than WVU, even if family is nearby?

Love Huss. He designed McDermott’s offense and clearly ‘gets’ Indiana.

McMillan has no idea what IU entails. He’s a floor coach, not a major program leader at this point.

I get that the off the court stuff is hugely important, and at a place like IU, complex and demanding. 

But at the end of the day we're hiring a guy to win basketball games. 

This is where Dolson will earn his money. He's going to have to assess the complete picture.
