“Far more” is really pushing it IMO Stu… Murray is 0-0 as a HC. McCollum won 4 D2 titles and outright MVC conference champs his first year in D1 with a rotation of 7 D2 and JUCO guys. That’s not nothing.

I said "arguably far more qualified." Here's why:

  • Unlike McCollum, Luke Murray has been on the sideline for two straight DIVISION ONE National Championship games.
  • Unlike McCollum, Luke Murray has been the lead recruiter for Division One players.
    • McCollum not only hasn't landed D1 players, he currently has a roster of D2 holdovers and JUCO recruits..
  • Unlike McCollum, Luke Murray has been the lead recruiter for a whole bunch of 5 star recruits.
  • Unlike McCollum, Luke Murray has been a key participant in landing top level portal players, and has dealt with their agents.
  • Unlike McCollum, Luke Murray has been instrumental in designing the offense that has won two straight DIVISION ONE National Championships.
  • Unlike McCollum, Luke Murray has been mentored by a Hall of Fame college coach.
  • Unlike McCollum, Luke Murray has been the lead game planner for games against ranked Division One teams, tourney games, and the very best ion the profession.

So would a guy like Luke Murray be a risk? Sure!

But is McCollum, a guy that's been a fantastic program builder but has never even sniffed a major program, a higher risk? In my opinion - very much so.

Father visits son at school during downtime at work.. More breaking news at 9:00 o’clock. There really isn’t much of anything for Brad to do this time of year, and it’s not like his job requires him to be physically in Boston.

It’s the most interesting Brad tidbit in this thread… (that’s not saying much). Still more interesting than his daughters soccer team lol

Yeah, the innocent explanation is that he wanted to catch a game at ND, and now was the best time since the waiver deadline recently past. ND has a home game Saturday, too, but the Celts are hosting the Lakers that night.

That having been said, I do think it was interesting rumors were flying last night before it was discovered he was in the state.

Added "arguably" within a couple of minutes of the original post, because it's subjective that a very successful career D2, D3, NAIA, or high school coach is somehow more prepared for the pressure of IUBB than a lead assistant at the most successful high major program in the country.

Hey - we might have a chance with Stevens for all I know. But the most clearly obvious explanation for a trip to South Bend, 3:15 minutes from Bloomington, is that a parent was visiting his kid during the school year and got to hang out with one his absolute best friends Micah as a bonus.

But why did he use a plane owned by an IU donor?

Sure! I don’t disagree one bit. Still for all the flight tracking that goes on in this thread, we see hes back in Indiana. Anything with IU is probably more likely being discussed elsewhere. Not sure how much time Brad spent in Indiana. But nice he’s choosing to spend time in his home state, even if only for the obvious reason.

I know it's almost like he doesn't even have to be there the rest of the year.

....didn't Isaac post something similar about Stevens saying....(pararphrased) "his GM responsibilties are pretty much, not much needed after March 1st"?
