Each time we've hired a coach, there's been little to no buzz about it anywhere until right before they were announced. Which is why all the hand-wringing over Brownell is silly.

Kinda true a week out. But as we got close to the announcement day? Definitely not true, especially for Woodson.

• For the Woody hire, about three days before the hire [mention=1559]8bucks[/mention], a wonderful poster who never gets over his skis, had the hire nailed -- through Woodson family acquaintances I believe. He told me but didn't want the attribution or grief on the open board so I posted that the info came from a credible, anonymous source about three days before Woody was announced. There was a meltdown and a "how do YOU know more than the insiders" string of pushback, as there should have been. And then it happened.
• For Cig, if I remember correctly his name wasn't really mentioned until a day or two before he was announced. When his name was suddenly thrown into the mix [mention=6234]Lebowski[/mention] started singing the praises really strongly, and pretty much everybody was then was a fan of his take (because he knows more football than many of us ever will). A day or two after the board had it as a strong possibility, the announcement came.

Wait...so credible information comes from people on this board and it's not just reserved for the media figure heads? Weird...

Of course credible info comes from posters! I’ve seen Chris and Jerry share plenty of things before they’re publicly known. Maybe AP too… I don’t think anybody is right 100% of the time and I don’t think anybody except for a very small number of people around Dolson and the next coach actually KNOW for a fact though what the decision is. The way this search has been buttoned up, I don’t doubt posters are hearing stuff from legit people… just taking everything with a healthy grain of salt.

I don’t block or ignore people because I just don’t get bothered by trolls or click baiters. Sometimes they are funny. But the emoji type click baiting makes no sense to me. Doesn’t bother me. Just silly.

Not referring to you specifically, but some on here call everything delusional that comes from people that share what they hear. Posters act like those that share are just lying for their own egos. I'm just glad that Stuhoo shared what he shared so that people see that others DO have information that is credible that hasn't been shared by the media.

If the dream is dead and we move to the acceptance part of grief...I think Ben McCollum would be a really interesting hire. There would certainly be some questions but I'd be really excited for it and I think he could turn Indiana into a consistent pain in the neck for other teams to play. Beyond him: Chris Collins? Brad Brownell if he does not sign the extension with Clemson? No one cares but I'm going to write up some detailed thoughts on McCollum and hope to manifest it into existence.

Trying to reconcile Jerry saying no one knows + saying the lid will be lifted later this week (which insinuates we’ll know and they’re not currently coaching) with GP now knowing and it’s bad.
