Ok I have a question. Originally when the transfer portal started I thought you could enter it see what's out there then stay if you wanted? Now every kid that enters the reporter's act as though the kid is gone. Can you not still stay?

They can still stay if the coach allows them to. The coaches aren't obligated to take a player who entered the portal back if the player changes their mind. I imagine that the number of players who stay after entering the portal is a small percentage.

Seems like it may happen with a coaching change.    But that's about it.

He was hurt last year but is really good. Ike would be a great addition.

The 'huh' was more about moving away from being a post touch team.  Personally I would love to have Ike.  Certainly still roster space to add the shooters and slashers we need and I'm probably more optimistic than most in Reneau being able to expand his game from the outside.  IMO, Reneau being the 5 next season would not be a good result.  Think he's a 4 and hopefully could expand his shot.  Think he's technique on threes looks fine....certainly better than Race's ever was.

Huh.

All that talk about playing different and not build around a post player and go out and get involved with a post player that can’t shoot.    Ike isn’t coming to play behind anyone and Malik isn’t going to back up anyone so you going to play 2 bigs again.    Going to be stiff competition for him so I personally don’t see him making it to IU but the fact that they are going after him is an interesting tell

I think when you look at the teams going after him you'll see that plenty of them already have a starting big in place.

Our portal interest to date is most perplexing.

The only one I find real perplexing is Reeves.  Seems like a great athlete without any good basketball skills.

Ike might be the most sought after player in the portal.  I would be more concerned if IU didn't at least gauge interest and kick the tires on him.  Timberlake is still my #1, but I sure as hell wouldn't be turning away Ike.

I get that, but he definitely has been a flop at Florida.  Seems like a poor man's Dexter Dennis.  Dennis IMO wouldn't have moved the needle much for us....don't see Reeves really helping IU.

Regardless, whoever ends up in Cream and Crimson are the guys I'm going to rooting for.

Per @Demo, more like a Troy Williams.

Will always defer to a coach because it’s his job to make it work. But schematically, it doesn’t strike me as a fit at all. He’ll rightfully expect 30 mins a night, as will Reneau. So, they’d play 20 mins a night together, and that just looks to me like a spacing issue on offense and defensively you’re gonna struggle in ball screen action, you’re gonna struggle with perimeter motion and your guards better be really good controlling dribble penetration because you don’t have a rim protector. But I think you’re right about the competition for Ike. I imagine there will be better fits for him. So, we’ll see what happens.
