Haven't been ranked since the week of January 14-20, 2019. During that week, we lost 51-66 to Nebraska at home and 55-70 at Purdue. Quote

Not wrong to remind them of that every now and again. Sorry you won’t be able to watch in person this year. I know the crossroads is one of your favorites to go to. HoosierAloha and mdn82 2 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 I graduated from U Indy when Butler decided to drop us because we were D2. Funny thing is we beat them two of the last three times we played them. cappymo14 1 Quote

Thanks man. In between high school games and IU we are all missing this year in person, the best I can say is I am just thankful they are playing some games. Just a fun game day in person. cthomas Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Butler has had some pretty good teams even before the Stevens era. They did get a little full of themselves there for a while, but their program is no joke. I remember the Tony Hinkle days and they were not a cupcake on anyone's schedule. They have beaten some pretty good IU teams. I get that some want to play bigger names. Maybe we should make sure we beat the"inferior" Butler's of the world first. Quote

I just don't know what is to be gained from the game at this point. It does help the SOS but there are a lot of other teams that can do that. Recruiting-wise, I don't think we gain anything from a win but can lose with a loss. Hardwood83 1 Quote

I'm hoping that the BTT will have fans in some fashion, but I'm not holding my breath. I've hit it every year for about the last ten years (sans when it was in NYC or Washington DC) and had tickets for last year until it got cancelled. I keep scorebook for the school I teach at and we haven't played a game yet as our football season ran long and now we've had an outbreak -- two players and a coach all testing positive. Will be at least Jan 5th before we play our first game. Already are shorthanded as it seems players aren't really wanting to play this year. mdn82 1 Quote
JaybobHoosier Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Won’t be able to watch the game live but with Butler down 1-2 players (one their best I believe), then IU should be able to win easily. No more need for a Phinisee last second shot, let’s just win by a lot.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners IUc2016 and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

cthomas Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Butler always worries me. They take a bunch of guys, most of whom I've never heard of, and create a puzzle we struggle to solve. I would love a comfortable margin but I just don't think I'm going to get it. Class of '66 Old Fart and ellen.walden 2 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 SIAP but Butler has a transfer from East Tennessee State, Bo Hodges, who was thought would start play for Butler today but he's been declared academically ineligible. Quote
TheWatShot Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 I'd caution anyone expecting an easy win. Blowouts aren't going to happen too often with this team. It's harder to win by a lot when you have a hard time hitting shots. ellen.walden 1 Quote
