Mike Schumann @ The Daily Hoosier I believe the last time #iubb had four captains -- Cheaney, G. Graham, Nover, Reynolds -- 1993. Pretty good squad. So this fit the state of our culture in 1993 under Knight? dar007 1 Quote

When I played basketball in high school, we usually had 3 captains for a roster of about 10-12 players. Although I have doubts about Archie Miller's ability to lead a Big Ten basketball program, I don't think there's anything unusual about this. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

I don't think its a big deal either way but there are always exceptions to rule. Heck, maybe its even a good thing to share the pressure, but it is my experience that these type of decisions are more common now than 20 years ago. Stuhoo 1 Quote
Demo Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 My Soph year at ORU we had 4 captains. But there was zero question who the leader was. Imagine this will shake out the same way. Will be shocked if this isn’t Durham’s team. ray, Class of '66 Old Fart, WayneFleekHoosier and 2 others 5 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 I like it if it happened organically, otherwise not so much. Brunk and Durham being the old vets with Phin and Thompson upperclassmen taking over next season. It’ll be more interesting to see who steps up as a vocal leader as games are played. I would love to see TJD play well enough to be Big Ten's Player of the Year, but it will take a lot considering Garza also plays in the Big Ten. I think Garza would need to trip up pretty severely or suffer an injury to fall off the perch. It's nice to read others making the claim TJD is a potential player of the year candidate though. Quote
Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 17, 2020 Author Popular Post Posted October 17, 2020 I think Jordan Geronimo's going to become a very exciting player for us. Coach Clif Marshall @ClifMarshall NBA scouts ask me about this measurement 1st. Not the vertical jump, not the bench press, but the wingspan. Specifically in relation to the players height. This player is 6’6 with a 7’1 wingspan. WayneFleekHoosier, Bobman1, GloryDays and 6 others 9 Quote

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile appI’ve found it interesting that just about every returning player has mentioned the attitude of this team, along with players getting more time in Cook Hall outside of practices. A few players left that were reported problem players. Could it be that simple...?I like TJD’s chill demeanor too. However, we NEED a few players that will absolutely get into a teammate for a missed defensive assignment, dumb turnover, or not going 100%. The last time I saw a positive exchange like that was Yogi and Bryant in Maui. After a bad start that team turned out okay.
