Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 St. John's wing L.J. Figueroa is in the transfer portal, source told ESPN. Averaged 14.5 points and 4.5 rebounds last season, shot 36.5% from 3. I've seen some speculation that we might reach out. mamasa, HoosierAloha, HoosierDYT and 4 others 7 Quote

Popular Post Stuhoo Posted May 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 26, 2020 LJ Figueroa was second team All-Big East. Without a waiver he's a sit one, play two, which works great if you ask me. HoosierDYT, MemphisHoosier, CSP and 5 others 8 Quote

AKHoosier Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Hopefully we reach out, but I'd bet $ on Figueroa ending up at Louisville/UK/Villanova. From Massachusetts originally, maybe we have some type of connection I'm unaware of. Quote

If he’s from Florida I bet Ostrom knows somebody he knows. BGVille Hoosierfan 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Borzello tweeted a list of 10 schools that have contacted L. J. Figueroa and we are not on that list at this point in time. Stuhoo 1 Quote

Hovadipo Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Not sure Figueroa is a fit style-wise. Read quite a bit about him being a chucker. I think he had a higher (or at least uncomfortably close) 3pt% than FG% because, as one Twitterer put it, “LJ Figueroa has never seen a contested 20-footer that he doesn’t love”. Stuhoo 1 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 In terms of Figueroa, I think it's at least a little concerning that he definitely seemed to have a better freshman year than sophomore. Don't think I've ever seen a player drop from a 51% shooter to a 38% shooter in one season while being asked to shoot the same number of times. Also dropped from 6 1/2 rebounds to 4 1/2. That said, if was the player he was as a freshman, would love to have him. Quote
Brass Cannon Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 The more I think about things I think we should just roll with what we have. Gonna need Al, Phinisee and Trayce to play 30 minutes a night. With Franklin, Lander, Race, Hunter and Brunk taking the other 110. It’s doable. And if we lose guys in the heart of big ten play we will be in a rough spot. Fingers crossed Hunter and Race put everything together. Quote

Gonna give the incoming guys a good chance to get some minutes early and some game experience. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
