At this point would we rather play MSU or michigan? We have to win no matter what and I’m feeling like our chances are better against MSU. And since I’m still hung up on this, I’m not sure a W vs. Michigan puts us ahead of them anymore.

Feel like a win against Michigan doesn’t necessarily need to put us ahead of them but I think it would put room between us and teams like Smu, va tech, etc and also could put us ahead of a team like Xavier

So if Wisconsin loses to Iowa does that mean we would play Illinois in second game if we can somehow we get by Michigan?

Wisconsin doesn't play Iowa, Iowa plays UI. If You wins then they get the ,#1 seed in the big ten.

Bubble bursted: RU will secure a bid being a top 4 team in the B10

Being 4th had nothing to do with getting a bid. A few years ago Nebraska was 13-5 and finished 4th and didn't make the tournament. One year we finished 4th and didn't make it under Davis.

Possibly, but that 4 rank win streak will maybe carry them in. Should be a Last 4 byes team by now

I feel like I've said this a million times, maybe just not around here: Conference. Placing. Does. Not. Matter.

I think they are definitely in, unless something wildly happens

Remember we aren't just going up just against Rutgers and UM.  Right now Lunardi has us in the last 4 with those two teams and Xavier. Xavier is the team I don't understand why they are still in the mix. Hopefully Butler can beat Xavier in the first game of the big east tournament.  Also we need to look at who are in the list of the next 4 out and even the last 4 byes.

Without knowing the full histories and situation, including team rules, prior violations, etc. it’s hard for me to say definitively it was the wrong choice, and even if it was, the two UW games and @OSU loom as larger missed opportunities. (Yesterday’s game was a missed chance, of course, but unlike the three I mentioned IU just played well and lost a close one, didn’t blow a 90% or more win probability.)

I may have posted this once but to me the question about the NW game is whether a serious but lesser punishment would’ve been adequate. Again, we may never know the situation well enough to be sure. But I wonder if the punishment had been sitting a half — at least in most cases, maybe someone who’d already sat a half for something earlier in the year sits all game — if we pull that out.

IU was up four at the half, pushed it higher to start the second, and I assume having all the suspended guys (minus maybe PStew in my scenario) is enough.

Yes that’s largely how i see it and posted that previously— it’s not a popular opinion but it’s mine — that was a very winnable road game, with a really tough stretch looming, the violation apparently was curfew, and it was minor enough that all of them were right back for the next game.
Lots of other punishment options, risking not making the tourney over that was short sighted and stubborn - my opinion, not going to argue with people who disagree, but man just a really short sighted my way or the highway decision that may cost us a tourney bid.

Win 2 and none of this matters, and of course people can say you could argue it was x game, but the fact of this season is that it was the beginning of the long losing streak, and yeah we would have won it with an actual point guard and the full team available. So i’m hoping none of this matters

You can say it all you want most people won’t listen despite that fact the committee chair says it each year.   A teams conference record isn’t even on a team sheet. Each team is judged Individually by their total body of work.  It’s why some years you will have a team be 6th in conference but the team that finished 7th had a better overall resume and would get in.

Basketball gods would do this site nice to have Wyoming play IU in the first 4.   That was a fun debate earlier in the year.  Although I really would rather IU not be in the first 4 since I will be going both days

Might need a nurse close by in case of cardiac episode .
